Straw Bale Gardening

Starting my straw bale garden in my cold greenhouse today. Second year in a row, I get a little salad bar growing on top of it of lettuce spinach kale etc. Anyone else use this method? It’s a nice way that I can make some space outside of my raised beds

My neighbor tried it one year. Did not continue. it was too small a patch (she didn't have a bigger garden, maybe she wanted too much from a straw bale)
