Strange looking clones

IMG_20160823_190714435_HDR.jpg Anyone know why this happens? I get it every once in a while, but they soon grow out of it. The mothers look normal with 5-7 "fingers" on each leaf. I'm not really worried about it, just curious if anyone else has seen this. Strain is Master Kush.

That makes sense. The mother plant they were taken from was probably very close to flower when the clones were taken.

its time to get rid of the mother . you can argue with me if you want tell me i am full of shit . once you chop the plant many times . it keeps growing and growing keep chopping . it starts to turn wild . it starts to lose its genetics . you need to start fresh . first it will start forming 1 finger leafs and if you flower it watch out it might produce many see,ds . i have seen this many times from experience even under 18 or 24 hours of mh or t5 it dont matter sooner or later this happens . i try not to cut her down more then twice i am talking totally cut down for top notch harvests . like i said other users can bash the shit out of me tell me i am full of shit i am sure chopping causes a lot of stress but you will notice the bottom of the plant will start shooting 1 finger leafs first its the newest . by the way those plants are over fed nitrogen .

i've kept moms for more than ten years with no degradation. dna doesn't change.

i have some rose bushes that are cuts from cuts from cuts from bushes that are a couple hundred years old.

Props to you! I can't even follow my own genetics back a few hundred years, epic fail.

Its when you flower then reveg or clone from that point on that I believe degradation takes effect. I've kept an individual momma in veg for almost 3 yrs and it was as the day I put it up every time I flowered clones from it. I never experienced any issues other than pruning & plant size management.

i have one of these

The Mermaid Rose is a delicate looking, yellow climbing rose with dark gold stamens. This old garden rose was hybridized by Paul in 1918

hard finding the origin of some of the old garden rose varieties, but they go back hundreds of years.

On that topic, I've only smelled around a dozen rose plants that smelled of that true "rose" fragrance. One of them recently was in the Biltmore Gardens, in the states.

Oh also GA3 and such pgr`s can cause the plants to throw out leaves like that

Could it be something in the cloning gel or some pgr that is getting fed to the mother ?

Not this trip, been through it a few times though. Beautiful lands, have to experience to understand.

Doesn't take me too long to drive to the biltmore. I wrote a lot of stuff in college based off of the blue ridge and smokey mnts.
awesome! hit me up next time you come this way, we can burn one over the french broad (river) ;)

so if dna does not change . and this person is doing the same process . same food light nutrients . temp water . what is causing it ? possible the plant got into trouble for not having insurance ? lol there has to be a reason why the plant is changing . nobody has a answer .

I took these clones from one of my outdoor plants. I believe that the outside plant was barely starting to flower when I took them and these clones were stressed. I believe this is what happened in this exact situation.

I do not disagree with your ideas as I have phased strains out, because I lost potency from taking clones from clones over many years.

Although I agree that this happens, I do not believe it is from loosing it's genetics, (genetic degradation) but due to stress from multiple cuts from mother plants that were not in the best health.

I believe that a clone can only be as healthy as the mother you take it from. The amount of stress any mother plant goes through isn't forgotten in the clone.

This is my opinion on this issue. Does anyone agree with me here?

It looks like it from your pics. They should begin putting off regular leaves again in the next 10-14 days or once fully into veg cycle again. If you run 18/6 light schedule I'd change it to 24hrs at least until you begin showing 3-5 blade leaves again. Also, just for caution sake check that the lights timer is set correctly and working as it should. A wonky light schedule will do that to your plants too.

Dna just dosent change like you think, you need to get over this whole genetic mutation unstable stuff...
