My wife and I suffer from a few annoyances marijuana can solve but after years of growing various strains we still don't have winners

Looking for a different strain that tackles each (1 strain per ailment...not expecting 1 strain for all)

1. Migraine cure

My wife suffers from terrible migraine headaches to the point she has to go to the ER to get a shot to make it go away. Need something to combat this

2. Anxiety/depression/stress relief

We both have problems with these types of issues. Any n all suggestions welcome although we're considering jillybean now. Something capable of giggles, smiles, mood enhancer

3. Insomnia

I often lay awake for hrs trying to sleep. I need a solid heavy knock u out peacefully strain (nothing likely to make me jittery/panic...mellow heavy sleepy bud needed)

4. Period cramps (obviously her issue) she currently uses white berry from paradise for that but hoping for something even better

Thanks a ton. Any help is very very appreciated

I don't know if you're able to get ahold of clones?
Gorilla Glue #4 has become my new favorite insomnia strain.
The high THC may be a little jittery, there's some sativa head high to it but the stone is so strong it puts me to sleep in 15 minutes when I've spent hours awake the previous weeks.
I think it's pretty good for headaches too, but I don't have them chronically.

Skunk #1 and hybrids of are pretty good mid potency sativa highs in my experience.
I've found phenos of HSO's pineapple skunk that like a shot of caffeine without jitters or a bodystone.
Good for being active on, my favorite pheno helped me zero in on whatever I was up too.
Made a long kayaking trip seem like a breeze, enough indica to relax aches and a nice mentally focused sativa high.

Blue Dream is another that is actually good all around, medium THC, you can sort of work with the strain either to relax with or be active with, it just offers some relief in most areas being a solid hybrid strain.
CBD rich strains are really what would work best but you'll have to either pheno hunt through some various strains, like Cannatonic, or find a source of high CBD clones.
A good amount of CBD negates the mental high while leaving the benefits of pain relief, inflammation, anxiety, in my experience.

Would you be able to recommend a good strain to stay focused on the task at hand. I don't have add/adhd but at times I can have terrible concentration lol

Ill look at the others now. Thanks.

Anyone else have thoughts. Definitely open to suggestions

Yes. I have access to any mmj dispensary in my area.

I just checked and saw gg4 is available in clone form. My question is who is the original breeder?

I wouldn't want to buy one from someone who supposedly has a cut. Id like to get it from the original source

However in my search I also heard it is more of a racy sativa when smoked anyways. Not that I'm no longer interested. Just curious why you suggested it for insomnia

I've grown original skunk no.1 from seedsman but that's it. Would you suggest any other breeder has a better version worth trying?

I've also had interest in cbd rich strains but not sure where to start there. Harliquen or however is spelled I think is considered a good cbd rich strain. Any truth to that.

Anyone smoked black domina or any landrace thai ? Random I know but I've had curiosity in both.

How's jillybean and agent Orange? I've wanted to try forever.

im a care giver in upper mi. i have many patients that have problems like yours.. i try to always have 3 strains growing an indica, like a pure afghan, wright now im running bcsc couchlock as my indica, great for sleep, and pain relief..then i run a sativa or sativa dominant, wright now its lemon kush, ggod for pain relief daytime, not a sleepy high.. then i run a hybrid.. i also allow my patients to look through my seeds and pick a strain at times, but that is getting to be to much as wright now i have 16 different strain mothers..i like to have 3, hard caring for so many.. i suggest picking 3 for yourseves an idica for sleep, headaches and pain and a sativa and hybrid for all other situations...
its hard to keep everyone happy with 3 strains but much easier on the grower...

ive run seedsmans skunk#1 and sensi's skunk1 in my opinion sensi was better, finished a week sooner and more potent..however if your looking to breed the seedsman skunk1 is a stabilized hybrid,, so i use that one for breeding..

GG4 is a clone only strain. Joesy whales from california is the creator. Watch out, lots of fakes out there because of the popularity. Its almost becoming like cookies with "who has the real one". Not quite as bad yet but lots of arguments over it

Blue dream and jack h are really good sativa dom, they grows easy and produces well too.
3x crazy, kens gdp, and blackberry kush are some of my favorite indica dom
Most of the og's are great 50/50's, my favorites are boss, ghost, and sfv

The gg4 I found so far is purple city genetics or something to that effect. Not sure if I remember the name correctly. But I wanna make sure so I can avoid a knockoff.

Ive never bought clones believe it or not. I work from seed but im pretty desperate for at least one winner I can clone..keep and run again and again

Check out dark heart nursery. I use them almost exclusively for my clones. Great reliable company, nice clones that are always healthy, and what you buy is what you get. Ive bought a lot of clones from them over the years and have never got anything that ended up being mis labeled.

They drop to harborside oakland & san jose, organican, berkley patients group, and RCP in sacramento. You have to get there early on the day they drop their clones because they sell out within a couple hrs (especially this time of year). Very popular company, imo worth the wait though. I have yet to be disappointed with something I have got from them. Some stuff I like better than others but nothing at all has been bunk. I have never got a hermie from them either.

They got a nice website, check it out. They describe all their strains and what different things they are good for.

I have the original GDP from Ken and it is a real good smoke, balanced more than just heavy. I can not say about what is available now though.

I like SAD from Sweet Seeds, it is a Black Domina pheno from 98. All indica but not too heavy for me, medical would be sleep or pain. 1 or 2 tokes is perfect for me.

Panama Red from ACE is a nice pure sativa without paranoid stuff. Mine only stretched 2x under LED. 12 to 14 weeks flower.

Maple Leaf Indica is another nice balanced high, not real heavy. Sleep or pain relief if you smoke enough. I only go light on smoking as I do not like the knocked out feeling, still get some insomnia relief.

Rishi Kush from Mandala is a balanced or kind of mild sativa at least for me. Could smoke it a couple hours before bed no problem. It would be most helpful for depression if I had to pick one thing.

If you can get single fem seeds, that is a great way to try out a strain without breaking the bank. Only 1 pheno to test but I hate spending $100 on a pack and find the strain does not agree with me.

I have BCSC Northern Lights, JOTI Godbud, KC Brains Afghani, Dinafem Strawberry Cough, Nepalese Highland from Cannabiogen upcoming. The Nepalese and Cough are supposed to be mild sativas. The others are described as heavy indicas but am hoping they are not all that heavy. If you smoke enough of a indica they all get heavy hehe.

i have at least 100 strains, then another 100 that i stabilized and another 20 f1 crosses off my favorites...ill probably never get to half of them yet i still want more.. i think seeds become addicting??

I know how you feel about seeds getting addicting. Like 2 years (maybe more) ago I participating in 2 promos .

Attitude's annual blowout and one from Herbie's (they always give away a lot if you buy 100 pounds of beans) I forget what it works to in USD.

Anyways I went overboard and blew probably 300-400 easy.

I had like 40 strains after that. All pick n mix style.

I grew out the best stuff first and now im down to the nitty gritty. In fact im having a small issue getting beans to come above soil for some reason.

I planned 4. 3 didn't make it and now I've put 3 more in between paper towels. 2 cracked n were planted Sunday.. Still waiting to come above ground..and 1 still not cracked.

And the one that did crack is tiny and I'm worried it may be a runt/bad seed

If none work ill need to get clones as all I really have left are regular (not feminized) beans and I rather not pop those yet. And I have maybe 15 seeds I've collected off a few strains I got that threw out a male flower or two that I didn't see over the years.

I have some off the Dutch passion strawberry cough I grew years back. Some off a seedsman original skunk number 1.

I believe those are IBL (true breeding) correct? If so it might be worth popping them no? I'll have to see if I have old pics or info to see what the prospective father (hermie) could've been or if it knocked itself up. Either way might be good smoke

If memory serves me I think I either grew it among 8 white widows or possibly it was a time I grew 8 plants. 8 different strains. Under 2 600s in 2 gal pot each.

I always seem to end up with dinafem gear. While it doesn't help with anything I "need" it for they never disappoint me. Everything did germinate just fine minus 2 ca hashplant I bought on separate occasions. I did buy 1 original amnesia and can't recommend it enough if you want a potential 1 hitter. At least the plant my seed grew to become was.

The same also happened with ceres orange bud (Didn't germinate even though I bought 1 each on two different occasions)

Thankfully all the expensive stuff has germinated lol

Have you thought that it might be the way you're consuming the medicine? Are you just smoking flowers? Edibles are great for sleep. Dabbing is great and should be thought of as an "emergency inhaler", not your main source of medicating, but there when you need a quick fix. I get little to no medical effects from smoking flowers. While an edible made with same flowers will have me right. Just a thought.

Well I don't have anymore of the os#1 but I do have about 5 beans I found on the os#1 plant. I'm pretty sure I either grew it with white widow or....a clusterf**k of other strains including but not limited to strawberry cough. Original amnesia from dinafem etc.

I wonder how good those beans will be. Anyone have any experience breeding an ibl with a plant outside of in bred gene pool?

I may just have to pop them and try and guess what it got crossed with

oh yes, i do quite a bit of breeding.. mostly stabilizing packs of 10 i bought, then crossing to make f1's. but i have had a few crosses that were unexpected, f1 pollen making its way onto my stabilized os plants.. i actually had a blue berry male from bcbd pollenate my os i had about 15 seeds and planted them all..there was alot of variation in the plants, some tall, some short, a few bad but most were good.. the best female was very skunk but with the bb's fruity smell and a more indica structure,, im currently still back crossing it with the best male out of the group.. anyways people say bag seed and home breeders seeds are crap,, wile ive had some of my best plants to date come from great bag weed or an unwanted cross...as a matter of fact wen i was in high school most of our weed was brick from ole mehico, but once in a wile we would all put our money together and buy a batch of good stuff(always was called the chronic back then)) anyways i was lucky enough to get 2 seeds one time and to this day ive never had better plants, not from all the seeds i pay lots of cash for.. i wish i had known how to breed back then!! plant those babies and see what u get,, could be crap or could be the best plant u ever grew.. i think even seeds bought from reputable breeders is a dice toss,, i paid alot of money for sensi's super skunk feminized and they were all ditch weed i couldnt give away,, then had their regular skunk1 and it was great.. so u never know till u grow them...i also brought a few seeds back with me from amsterdam back in 2002 found in buds and they turned out very good,, so idk, i normally only grow paid for seeds now but i had good luck with bag seed back in the day.. just roll the dice and hope for that killer phenio, then clone the shit out her or get some s1's in a pinch...
