what ever= w/e.......giv'em a few more days and make sure there is no light leaks!!.... it looks like your plant is stretching for the light!!
Plants aren't going to show sex until they are sexually mature, somewhere from 5 to 8 weeks of age.
The light cycle doesn't mean squat until they get old enough. They will show sex (pre-flowers) under a 18/6 or even 24/7.
You are wasting your time trying to rush mother nature, it ain't gonna happen.

i know this is an old post but thats bs iv flowered straight from seed about 4 nodes with skunk
ssometimes first nodes you dont have to wait until its mature lol although you yield considerbly more when left to mature

Do you have pics of the 5 to 8 weeks showing there sex?? So many differing views. I would love to save the time of cloning or re vegging
Just leave it be. Let it grow some leaves.
Im not a fan of defoliation. It can really stunt your plant. Nothing wrong with a light prune though.
I think your plant is just stunted, and playing catch-up before it flowers.
Just be nice to it for now, and dont remove anymore foliage.
