Stem question.!?

-Hey guys. I'm just wondering if this is normal or not. My stem above my first setof nodes is really healthy. It's thick and meaty and has a sexy set of purple stripes. HOWEVER, The stem section from the ground upto the first set of nodes is about as thin as a toothpick. I am just wondering if it going to fill out, it hasn't seemed to get any fatter in the past week...:leaf:

EDIT: Is there any way that this prob, or the fact that i've seen little growth over the past several days could be due to needing a transplant? I just checked my drip pan any there was a healthy looking root growing out of the bottom.

I would venture to say you don't have a fan going, not only do they help the air move and keep it from gettin stagnant it also is like a gentile breeze (lol that sounds kinda funny when your stoned guess its cause i'm typin) and it will strengthen the bitch right up.

about your other question how big us your pot?

-I DO have a fan. It WAS in a 6" pot, and is now (transplanted last night) in a massive pot. My root ball was very well developed so transplanting was a breeze. The stem is VERY strong even tho its so thin. It feels like a fuckin nail or something. But to answer my own question, i checked it this afternoon and i can see the "skin" on the stem splitting, so i know its fattening up right now.

I would rethink your setup a bit. You probably want to rig up some sort of grow box or cabinet. It will help reflect the light better. You don't have to run out and buy mylar, though it would be a good investment, you can just cover the inside of whatever you use with the whites computer paper you can find. Yeah it sounds strange but there is whiter than white paper it is more expensive but if you look at it at the store you will be able to tell. The cans you are using, well I have never seen it done before and it may work but I think that the usefulness of that reflector setup has plateaued. Your fan you might want to get an oscillating one they are pretty cheap and will keep you from blowing the girl down. The fan you have will actually work perfect for a vent fan at the top of your grow box. I am not tryin to tell you what to do or how to do it but I do think that you should look into a better design and setup, its just constructive criticism have fun with your baby!!!!
