So I've decided I want to construct a stealth dresser grow and I am looking for a little bit of help and tips from anyone who is willing to contribute their knowledge. I am going to use a dresser that is about 4FT wide X 4FT tall and 2FT deep and I was thinking about growing 2-4 plants depending on however much I could fit for best results. I was going to use THIS GROW LIGHT http://cgi.ebay.com/150-Watt-HPSA-System-High-Pressure-Sodium-Grow-Light-Sun_W0QQitemZ390057996275QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxq20090609?IMSfp=TL090609153002r8754
cover the walls with Mylar and probably use computer fans for intake and exhaust. I want to filter the smell but I am unsure on how to do that other than buying a carbon filter and fan setup for $100.

does this light setup look any good and how many good sized plants do you think I can produce for the space I have. Also looking for ideas on how to install fans but stay away from light leaks any advice/suggestions is apprectiated.:joint:

you can make your own filter/fan setup for a lot less than $100
search on RIU for the pencil cup filter, real cheap and easy filter setup
the basics of this filter is buy a couple of the cheap wire pencil cups, some panty hose, and activated charcoal from the aquarium supplies
you will end up with a layer of charcoal between a layer of panty hose, which are held in place by the wire cups

I just happen to have this link saved here. LOL. I also built this filter and it works great. I used exactly whats seen in the pictures. Cost way less then $100. If I remeber right I bet it was about $15 or so to build.

I use that filter as well

You can buy everything you need at Walmart (activated Carbon only sold at some stores with a pet section, you may have to visit a local pet store)

hmm i like that light! hoods and ballasts seem so complicated (i'm a CFL grower) but combining the two seems very attractive. i might get one myself!

Those DIY carbon filters are the best thing since sliced cheese. If you get the Walmart cups they fit right over a 4" exaust. Whoever came up with that idea needs an award.

I tried to do a small cab grow w/ a 150w HPS all-in-one unit too my first grow. I spent about $1100.00 in total to convert an armoire.

First the light wasn't enough so I had to bump up to a 400w.

Then the heat was too much so i had to buy inline fans.

Then the heat was still too much (I'm in the SW too), and I had to drop $400.00 on a portable a/c unit which ended up having to be butted up aginst the rear of the cabinet blowing directly into the cab as the new cold-air intake. That's when the 'stealth' went straight out the window.

Then I realized that I needed more room. I had to buy a grow tent for $200.00.

IMO- save yourself 1 year, 3 re-builds, 1000 tears, and $1100.00 and just buy the grow tent the first time around! I use a SunHut 2'x4'x7' and i friggin love it. It's actual dimensions are closer to 4'x5.5'x7.5'. You'll be glad you did. :leaf:
