STEALTH DESK BUILD!!! (lPICS)

Whats up guys? So i started building my stealth desk! have been online all week doing research on what to use and what not. Ill be growing in a 15.5"W x 19"D x 28"H. Not a lot of room so ive got a few questions on what i should be using for lights. I wanted to try and fit a 150W HPS (digital ballast located outside of grow area) with a DIY cool tube hooked up to PC fans. If its still too hot im gonna have to go with CFLs. Ill be growing just for personal use so im not looking to grow a ton (only smoke about an oz a month). heres some pics. Just starting the build a lot to still do. Any tips or input would be very appreciated!!!



The ballast, fan speed controller, and ducting will be ran behind the desk into the left cabinet. i put the bottom of the grow space on tracks for easy access for watering and what not.

Im still not sure if i should do a 6 plant in 6" pots 12/12 from seed SOG or a 1 plant SCROG HELP!!!! Also still deciding on what strain i wanna do so feel free to chime in. Was thinking C99, Tangerine Dream, or Berry Ryder

I have seen some impressive things with small HPS being put into small spaces so Im not gonna say its impossible but normally that space it meant for CFLs. If youre handy and know what you are doing then you could try working with a HPS but otherwise I wouldnt recomment it.
Im a big supporter of SCROG grows, IMO it uses the space the best.

Hps run way to hot for something that small. You'll have to have a lot of air moving to keep the climate in the right area, better off going led or cfl. A 90w led would fit perfect in there.

Read up on digital ballast before anything, the can cause problems in the household.

Nice stealthy room there. Welldone. Have you considered leds for yor grow? You can go diy if you got it (and as i see you do ).
I had the same prob about light and i think every micro-cab grower does. CFL buds imo are not good. Very fluffy and not so potent and aromatic.
HPS on the other side gives more and better, but the heat is a major porblem. So there you need a good ventilation system (which sometimes means more noise) otherwise i't will be hard.

thats the better idea more room' i had 2 storage lockers that produced a few oz every harvest. or a dresser is another idea just gut the inside and make the drawer faces your door' air flow is the hardest noise to cover up

yea im thinking im gonna go with a 6" inline/ muffler and carbon filter w/ afan controller...but was wondering if i caould get away with a 4' or if it would be to loud.

There's no denying that HPS will produce better crops.

However I have to disagree that CFL buds aren't very fluffy and not so potent an aromatic. If you have poor CFL coverage then what you say might be true. If you have good coverage and keep the CFLs close to your plant you can get some dank just like any other grow. In my PC grow I pulled down 5 fat dense colas + a lot of popcorn under the main canopy.

CFLs can pull of some nice shit in tight spaces, its just not meant for big grows.
