Hey guys,

I recently purchased a Platinum LED p150 grow light (87w actual power draw) and will be comparing it to a 75w T5 light that I used in my last grow journal (harvested 40g bud & 40g trim/popcorn nugs) . In addition to the light, I built a SCROG screen to try and simplify the task of spreading the canopy (last time I had a mess of slipknots by the end). Otherwise the grow conditions are exactly the same, including the strains that I will be growing.

My setup is:

- 2.5'(width) x 1.5'(depth) x 3'(height) Milliard grow tent inside of a cabinet that I fitted with a lock.

- 4"x8" Phresh Filter (150 cfm) connected to an Apollo Horticulture 4" (190 cfm) inline duct fan, with insulated ducting leading out the top of the tent. I also have a 6" Lasko fan blowing across the tops of the plants at all times.

The plants I am growing are Dinafem Industrial Plant Auto CBD (1:2 THC:CBD) and Dinafem Haze Auto CBD (1:1 THC:CBD). They were soil germinated in their final containers (3 gal fabric pots).

The light has been fixed at 26" above the soil, which is on the closer end of the recommended hanging height for seedlings with this light (with only veg switch on). I noticed the seedlings stretching, however, and flipped on the bloom switch to give them a bit more light. They seem to be thriving now.

From what Mark at Platinum LED told me it's within reason to expect 1g/watt of their lights, so this time around I'm aiming for ~3oz total off the 2 plants. We'll see what happens!

Nice stealth setup you have there. I'm also growing in a smaller tent 2x3x4.5. And my next run will be autos. Curious to see how your scrog with autos turns out.

I am running a Platinum LED p300. I think you will like your 150.

What soil and nutes are you using? Also, how high above the soil is your scrog?

Best of luck.

Hey Sheikster,
I'm really liking the p150, I would've gotten the p300 but Mark at Platinum LED said I didn't have enough height to avoid light burn.

I'm using Roots Organics soil right now with some Be-1 organic fertilizer I got at a hydroponics store down in Oregon. I've been thinking about switching to bottled nutrients but my grow budget is pretty tight right now...

The SCROG screen is ~4" from the soil. Right now I'm at day 12 and the plants are just now hitting the screen. A few more days and they should be tall enough to start LSTing. I have the light fixed at ~26" from the soil, so ideally I'll be able to train the plants so that by the end of flower they're ~12"-16" from the light.

For comparison's sake, I'll be posting pics from my last grow with the same seeds and setup (but with a 75w T5 light) alongside my current grow with a p150 (87w LED).

The Haze seems to be lagging behind a bit this time around, but the Industrial Plant is right on track so I don't think it's any fault of the light. I'm hoping I didn't end up with a runt...

I was inspecting the Auto Haze this morning and realized it has 4 branches per node...additionally one of the first fan leaves it produced is mutated. I did a little web searching but couldn't find a name for this mutation...any thoughts?

I'm assuming that'll mean smaller yields, but growing out a mutated plant should be fun!

Most people say you can't or aren't supposed to Scrog autos. How have you found it works for you?

What's the difference in yield with a scrog and non scrog auto harvest?

Nice. seems like you might have challenges either fresh air, I didn't see an intake how are you doing with that?

It's a 4" hole in the bottom right corner of the tent (hidden by the right-hand pot) with another 4" hole in the back of the cabinet directly behind it.

The Industrial Plant should fill out it's half of the screen! The mutant Haze is looking wonkier every day so I'm not really sure what to expect from her...

I have 3 Lowryder2 going right now ... will be 3 weeks on Wednesday. Bushy. Thought about scrog for the flower stretch. Not quite sure yet. I like your craftsmanship.

Nice job, Nate. I pulled my tops down with some lst action this morning. They bent over just as easy as a college freshman chic...lol. hoping to start seeing some pre flowers shortly. Around week 4 yeah? Then its bloom nute city for the girls!
Was thinkinging scrog, then decided lst last minute. Either way - maximize my yield i reckon..
keep up the good work, hoss. Be safe, bro.

Day 24:

The Industrial Plant has more or less filled out it's half the screen so at this point I'm going to stop training it and let it grow closer to the light. Right now the flowers are ~20" from the light with both bloom & veg switches on and I'm aiming for them to finish at around 15" or 16" away.

The nodes kinda zig-zag back and forth on the Haze plant...
