starting new build any opinions would be great :)

hi chaps, here is a quick sketch up of how im doing my setup, im using 1000w hps air cooled each light is over 10 22.5 litre air pots, the lights will be on rails so will be moving up and down.

the tent is 10x10 built with plywood and using flat white paint, the scrogs are 10x4 each side so i can reach over without any problems, i will be vegging in a 5x5 tent using 2x 8 tube t5 lights and will be vegging for 6 weeks

im still deciding what to do next but this is my first grow and i know there will be some people saying its too much for first grow but i love the challenge and would love to share with you my results for this build on my first run.

any advice would be much apreciated guys.

what are you doing for ventilation?

thank you but im no cabinet maker lol, this images has been modelled and rendered as im a graphic designer but i am a pretty good diy person so anything i build or make i do all drawings in 3d then once im happy i get everything cut to dimensions so making the real life build much easier. as for ventilation ill be using 8" fans but its something ill be adding in the drawings over the next few days while i study more lol

Having grown under a light-mover for two years I can say that it's a waste of time and money going with one. If it were me instead of one 1000 watt I'd go with two 600 watt fixtures and bulbs....or if you have a real good handle on avoiding heat issues...go with two 1000 watt bulbs for a 10x10 area. Just know that you'll need a set-up that can keep temps down.

thank you, well just to mention incase you misread im using 1 1000w each side so 10 plants on the left was using a 1000w on a light mover and on the right was another 1000w lighting another 10 pots all in one 10x10 tent.

ive also read a few posts regarding light movers that if i had 2000w lights moving up and down id get simular results as if i was using 4000w due to no heat spots or blind spots ect.

Imo using a mover will not get you the results of 4k.

My first grow was 6 1000w in a 12x20 room so I say go for it when people want to start off with a couple 1ks. If it were my room though I would put 2 1ks on each side. You will get much better results, just air cool them. You got plenty of space in there for 4k

its not a problem getting 4k in there because id go ott on the ventilation but im more concerned about electricity company grassing me up or does that even happen? as long as i can manage to keep the smell away i will be sending the heat through 4 different ventilation boxes using either desktop fans or pc fans in each box so by the rtime that heat gets through to the last box it should just be cold air or warm at the most. or am i thinking the wrong way lol.

The electricity company will never harass you because they want your money.
As far as ducting, what area of the house is this in?

As long as you pay your bill they don't care. You might as well go all out and make a sealed room with ac and co2. Just duct your lights with a couple 8" fans or one 12" fan.

grow is going to be in a bedroom but it has a storage room inside the bedroom and a window which both are in an aqward place so its just easier to do a 10x10 box in the center of the room, it is a spare bedroom thats not even decorated and has concrete floor without carpets lol. i dont want to get into a debate about yeld amounts but i will admit higher is the goal im after for achievement purposes only and not for money making, so my question is if i have 20 5 gallon pots 4x 1000w so 1000w light per 5 pots all scroged what yeld would i be aiming for? i know its a how long is a peice of string question but a rough idea would be a nice base start to look at.

oh and before someone jumps in and says well why do so many plants if you aint making money, well like i said its a challenge and if it wasnt illegal and i had the money and room id have ago at a warehouse job just for fun and a challenge

Warehouse dreamin, yup. but Id say 2oz per plant is easily achievable.
