Working in a 9x8 room, trying to find the most efficient way of growing 38 plants under 3 1000w HPS(with additional supplemental lighting). Doing designs now for a 3 level system(think statium seating, that would have 15 on the outer top row, 13 on the middle row, 10 on the inner bottom row.

I made this really brutal picture in mac paint to try n explain the concept(hope it helps) :?

We're going to run 1 inch PVC(with uniseals) between 4l square buckets along each level, with an inline pump in the corner(or control bucket?) to give us our current. There will be 3 separate systems running in the room with the this design.

Has anyone seen a design similar to this before that I could try to follow?

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated. gonna start putting this together after the weekend, and i'll be sure to upload some pics of the process!

It looks like there's one control bucket per level? so it should work.
Only suggestion I can see would be, stagger the rows maybe?
No, I've never seen a rdwc like this, kind of like an nft but the roots are separated.. eh?
Are you going to be using vertical lighting?

Great to hear from you! your grow journal had a great deal of influence on making the decision to go with this setup :)

What would be the benefits to having the rows staggered? definitely will implement this if its worth it!
All the plants will be in individual 4L buckets, so definitely separated. I'm thinking of having the water level up to the bottom of the net pots, so that I won't have to top feed(As there will not be a separate veg room, plants will go from the cloner directly into these pots)
I will be hanging at least 3 vertical HPS bulbs in the room(1000w most likely), with possibly additional MH/LED on the top of the room for supplemental lighting.

you mentioned stadium seating, Have you been in a theater with staggered seating? each row is off set so your view is between the 2 seats in front of you giving you a better view of the screen? also in an offset position the plants have more space to grow than if thay where inline

ya i would definitely stagger them so the lower plants wont block the light to ones on the different rows as they get taller. i've been considering this type of setup for a while now. best light use by far!
