Alright so.. first off i have 3 plants that are a few weeks into flowering... i just harvested a plant that turned hermie on me. But before i harvested that p lant i noticed there was a spider crawling out of the soil.. (not a spider mite) an actual like house spider.. he kept going in the soil and coming back out when i disturbed it. but i removed that plant and its pots from the grow closet a few days ago... i go in to the closet today and one of my best looking 12/12 from seed plants had a very thin spider web circling the plant from bottom to top... it almost seemed like whatever made the web just started in one spot and circled the plant a few times... on top of fan leaves. and a few sugar leaves... My first thought is FUCK SPIDER MITES.. but then i remember the other spider that was living in the soil on the other plant ... and i have looked numberous times in multiple spots with a 60x-100x microscope aswell as look very very very closely under leaves and over the entire plant and i have never once seen a spider mite... my question is.... is it possible that the webs i found are from the house spider or regular spider that is maybe trying to catch fruit flies or is that far fetched and im in denial about having spider mites? i can honestly say i think i have all the signs and symptoms of spider mites but have not and can not find 1 single spider mite or mite egg... yet i have seen actual spiders in my grow room in the soil etc... give me some hope guys or tell me im fucked

I am dealing with my first run with spider mites in 15 years of growing. I first found a few leaves with the quintessential spider mite specks on them (discoloration). Then I looked under a 20x scope and saw one or two mites and eggs underneath. It has beena bout 4 weeks since I first spotted them - my outbreak is very mild and I about have it whooped*, but I noticed the leaves first and the mites were fairly easy to find after that. My "outbreak" never got to the point of webbing. From what I understand, the webs go from leaf to leaf, not from bottom of the plant to top of the plant. I wouldn't just take my word for it though. If it is a regular spider, I would leave it alone.

*I went through neem2 and some other organic remedy before getting mighty wash (1 week ago). So far the mighty wash seems to be working better than the other 2.

well it wasnt really going fromt bottom to top it was more like spiraled around the whole plant starting from the bottom and working its way up in a spiral. very tiny web and very hard to spot but once i saw one strand i started seeing more and more they were on top of the leaves one of my other plant has what looks to be spider mite "spots" little white specs and streaks but it has no webs or any other signs of spider mites... the plant i found the web on has maybe a very small amount of what could be spider mite "spots" on the leaves but again if there are webs i assume that means im infested and should easily be able to spot them. but i have not found any actual spider mites or eggs. even with a 60x-100x scope.. do eggs look like trichomes?. would a regular spider actually make a web around my plant like that? and would i have spider mite web surrounding my plant but be unable to spot any spider mites at all? i have very good eye sight as well so i dont understand what the fuck it is.. i hope its not spider mites but im guessing it is... the plant is completely covered in trichomes what kind of insecticide would be safe to use at 4 or so weeks flowering with plant covered in trichs?

Like I said, I may be wrong on the webbing, I just never saw any on my plants. I can't really help you there.

Coming from my very limited experience with mites; the eggs are on the underside and are similar to the heads of trichomes but smaller, and they sparkle in the light a little. Once you see one or two, you'll know it. when I first saw leaf damage, I found a mite then found eggs, but there weren't many. I don't know how long you are looking, but I would give yourself 10-15 minutes on one plant with the scope. And if you see what you think are mite spots, cut that one leaf off and REALLY look it over. And look at adjacent leaves. They are small fuckers.

yea i have looked for hours trying to find mites with my scope and i have never seen a one so im very confused... i very much hope it was just the regular spider i saw crawling around in the grow room....

Leave the house spiders in there and keep the Neem oil handy. This stuff is amazing and i can even wash the cat with it. My friend uses it for her psoriasis and I can use it on Eczema. It's the best but doesn't work on thrips. To find spider mites look for small white specks on leaves (they're under there) or spray with fine water mist to show up the micro webs better. If you do get them you MUST use Neem twice in a week to catch the hatching eggs a few days later.

is mighty wash safe to use during flowering? if it is just the house spider i would rather not try and use any chemicals but when i checked today i found no webs after removing it yesterday morning... i guess ill see if the web comes back and if it does ill try to find the house spider again... i will continue to look for mites ...just incase i do have mites i want to make sure that whatever i use to get rid of the mites is easy to use and safe for budding plants cause this plant is completely caked in trichomes so im worried im going to screw the plant up by using a a chemical...i heard neem oil tastes like shit and leaves residues on the plant.. so im curious about mighty wash

Mighty wash is supposed to be safe up to harvest. It is 99.8% water. I feel your concern over the trichs, though.
