I have spidermites only on my mother plants, i spray once a week with Ortho stuff i got from wal-mart that says it's for spidermites, it is a mitacide but i must not have made it strong enough becuzz it only slows them down, i do not have spidermites in my flowering room becuzz i make sure to knock out any signs of that early on and it seems to work, i think i'm gonna try the alcohol mix you suggested becuzz it actually seems less harmful to my mothers than the mitacide does, thanks for the tip.

I loved my LSD! I had A DWC mother and I killed it along with the other 4 strains I had! It can get tempermental at times.... I do have A clone I will be turning back into A mother as soon as she roots for me.

OGKUSH- You need to change up your product often, they will get immuned to what you use! I change application's about every 2 week's. For example I use SMC every 3 day's for 2 week's then go to bio neem same application times and then I may set off A pyrthrium bomb!

The alcohol mix didn't work to well for my spider mite infestation, a cpl of my plants bit the weenie so I went to the Hydro store and got a bottle of "Don't Bug Me". Shit worked great, but the one 24oz bottle didn't last long considering I had 80 plants in one of my ebb/flo tables to spray. The active ingredient in the spray is Pyrethrum oil derived from the oil of the chrysanthemum plant (mums in floral terms). It not a chemical, it's natural and breaks down into an inert and harmless substance in a few days.

It just so happens that I gave my dogs a bath and dipped them in some flea and tick dip the day before and wouldn't you know it, the active ingrediant in the dip was "pyrethrum oil". But it was in a slightly higher concentration than the "Don't Bud Me". Did the math and mixed up a solution of the dog dip comparable to the strenth of FoxFarms spray and literally drowned my plants tops and bottoms after I trimmed as much off as I could to get rid of as many mites and eggs as possible before I sprayed. Then I lit a candle and prayed....That was 2 weeks ago. Today they are thriving and doing great. didn't lose any of the girls and NO spider mites.

Plus side is that the dip solution makes the spray at a cost of about $1.00 per gallon. The extra close trimming was gonna happen anyway cuz I do that when I lolly pop my girls.....Took these pics a cpl days ago, they were drenched with my homemade spray about 2 weeks ago.

Hey Hoobie, can you me tell anymore about the LSD? I'm very anxious to hear anything about it!

AND to everyone else: PLEASE NOTE, as the starter of this thread, I have RECANTED everything I originally said about the alcohol/h2o remedy. Time has demonstrated to me that it's just BUNK! (& it was never my intention to spread faulty methods around in RIU). I wish good luck & good grow to all who read this........BB

Hey Burger Boss,

Nice thread you started here as I will continue it for you.

I just recently found some spider mites that were crawling underneath my fan leaves (boy was I pissed). I even had them at an earlier stage (babies) and this method worked flawlessly. I buy the 99% alcohol and cut it with water (1:1 ratio) and spray my girls with it. I spray top to bottom and most importantly, underneath where they like to chill during day time. Like someone mention, dont get it into the soil. The girls dont like to be posioned. I make sure that the alcohol evaporates before I put them back into my tent or else the maginify glass effect will burn them.

Pro: works like a pro and kills on contact. cheap and effective. not deadly for your girls. evaporate quickly

Cons: I hate the smell of it (smells like the doctors place). some spider mites are immune to this procedure.

LastOneLeft

PS - I collected a few of them f@*^ers and watch them as I spray killer instinct spray, and let me tell you how fun it is to watch them try to run and curl up and die as the liquid touches them. muwahahahahahahahah!
sorry I just had too:bigjoint:
