spider mites 10 days b4 harvest

hi RIU, i have a nice space queen plant about 10 days from harvest and i just noticed some spider mites on a few leaves the other day. i immediately removed the infected leaves and quarantined it from the rest of the garden. the quarantine zone is my bathroom shower/tub and the only one in the house so i dont really want to put up lights or anything, but like i said its still 10 days or so out and im not going to put it back in the grow room.

i guess my question is will the plant continue to ripen up in the bathroom with no beneficial light?

i have the exhaust on to keep humidity down. should i hang some temporary lights in there? i dont want to but if i have to i will..

'Liquid ladybug' will kill the mites and is safe during flower. Won't kill the eggs but you just need to get through 10 more days and the mites won't be in your buds.
I'm not sure about the light situation. I think u want some strong lights to finish it off

No worries, Just cut it down or leave it to see if she'll swell a bit in the bath. I myself would cut it down and get to treating the grow on the mites. hate those fuckers

@DutchHaze i have nukem witch works great is safe to use up to 3 days b4 harvest but it being the only plant that has em i dont really want to put it back in my perpetual garden and risk infecting the other plants nearby or worse the other cycles ie clone/mother/veg plants.

@Diabolical666 so u think just leaving her be with no light is fine or should i toss a ufo led or some cfls over her? i dont really want to chop her yet as the trichomes are only like 60% clear 40% milky. i dont know if keeping her in the bathroom with no light or air movement will cause mold or lessen the potency 10 days is a long time in the dark

ugh only 60% cloudy...she prolly has more then 10 days then. Get some light on her and a fan. Most likely you have a cpl weeks at least;)

Fuck Spider Mites. Not Much you can do at this stage. Also, I'd say you are closer 15 - 30 days ish. I could be wrong though. Options are pretty limited. wait it out and if shit gets real bad just turn the whole crop into hash or qwiso or oil or something. These fuckers won't go away on their own though. YOu can try lady bugs but I've never had much luck with them. Usually they commit suicide and fly into the light or fan.

I can just about guarantee you will not be happy if you pull early. But you also will not be happy if you lose the whole crop to mite shit and webs.

Thats cool you breed them in the veg...how do you get them from not commiting suicide into the lights?I tried using them in the past and thats what they end up doing. Then I have to hear the crunch of walking on their corpses...lol I threw in the towel on that idea;)

yea i was being a bit optimistic on that finish time prolly more like 2 weeks.. well im sure the gf is gonna love having a grow op in our only bathroom lol.

on the topic of lady bug suicide, all u need to do is fill a spray bottle with coke (coca cola not cocaine) and mist the ladybugs before putting the room. the coke will cause there wings to stick and they will not flie, only crawl the remaining of there lifespan..

Hey man without adequate light, you're doing a dis-service to your plant. Those buds gonna get fluffy. 1 plant with mites? Most likely that's just the worse one and they are already on the others. I use nukem but haven't had to use it that late in flower. You can use a shop vac and clean up those cola condoms if it gets real bad. Might take even longer than normal without proper light etc... You can try washing those buds after you chop, those mites crawl up and out of the buds when they hang too. Hate to see you throw away your hard work.

BTW where are the spider mites? I've looked at your pictures a couple of times but I don't see any signs of them. Mind posting a picture of the suspected area?

heh well im very proactive in the garden i tend to spot things early.. with lil white spots on a leaf and just a few critters in the teenage stage i pulled her out of the garden and destroyed the few leaves that were infected. no signs of them now but all i takes is 1 egg. in the bathroom they dont tend to hatch and produce because of the lower temps, they go dormant, but if i were to bring her back in the room and the temps were high enough that 1 egg would likely hatch

You can see them just wash off with 50 %dish soap and 50% water and watch them slide off. being so close to harvest spray just once and then spray water every day till gone the last picture is a nutrient issues use water till harvest.. Once you see a plant issue you are all ready two week behind in fixing it -

I applaud your attention to detail. So is that a teenager plant or almost harvested one with mites? Used to have mites or still does? Can you lower your grow room temps? Honestly I think you'll be disappointed if you finish her under those conditions you described. If you thought you got rid of them and oh shit you didn't, that's why I say you probably have them on the other plants, or they are at least in that room. Spraying this late sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Your plant doesn't look bad, if I thought I had 10 days, I'd probably just ride it out.

i was referring to teenage spidermites. i found them on a few leaves like 3 days ago on that plant in the picture which is an estimated 10-15 days from harvest. it has been in the cold in the bathroom and there is no sign of any mites at this time but i fear if i bring her back into the grow room they might start reappearing and possibly spread..
when i first put theses into flowering i got a few plants from a patient to fill in the extra space i had and about a week later found mites on those from the patient and destroyed them. this plant that has them now was the plant that was closest to the 2 from the patient and the only one i have found mites on since.

u say u would ride it out.. u mean in the bathroom with some supplemental lighting? or u mean spraying it and sticking it back in the garden?

Spidermites do suck..... chlorophyll (cue rimshot). Most growers I know have accepted that they will get mites some how some way. Good maintenance keeps them in check and that allows me to coast through the end of flower with minimal issues. I clean the shit out of the room between cycles and dunk my vegging plants and hammer them hard before going into flower too. It certainly is annoying to do everything right and then they show up from a cat, or unfiltered ventialtion, or new clones. If I am familiar with a strain and know for sure there is 10 days left, I would leave it in the grow room, spray everything that is more than 2 weeks from harvest with nukem or neem. (note spraying buds can lead to mold) I have heard of cranking up CO2 to kill bugs, but I don't run CO2. I have used moist towels to wipe webs and mites as well as the shop vac, but they are in real bad shape at that point. Your's aren't. I understand wanting it clean and pristine, those little bugs are tenacious, but with inadequate lighting in a cool environment, your plant will end up poorer in quality and take longer to finish, just to prevent your other plants from having bugs that probably are already there and you can get unknowingly anyway. Many times people are confident that they got rid of a certain pest, so stop paying attention or spraying, then wham complete infestation. Easier to get into a routine of maintenance and prevention and accept that they'll happen. And I live in a state where we can sell our bud to the stores that do lab testing for things like this (although it's debatable how conclusive that is).

alright well i guess i better go refill my empty co2 tank and prep some spray bottles for war.. ill also dim my 1000s to 600 in order to lower the temps in the flowering room and allow my dehumidifier to get up into the mid 40s
