I have just noticed some type of bug boring into 1 of my plants. It seems to be where i had cut some leaves off mainly. Whatever it is seems to borrow into the stem and pushes out something that looks like dirt, almost like a termite wld do! Im in Maine and the plants are outdoors, CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT WITH IDENTITY OF THIS BUG AND HOW TO GET RID OF IT AND PREVENT IT ON MY OTHER PLANTS??? PLEASE HELP!!

Sounds like the same problem a lot of outdoor growers are dealing with right now. Stem boring beetles.

Over the last few days I've read a few threads with others having similar issues.
Maybe these will help
