some advice please

Here's my situaiton

Using an Ebb & flow hydro system, using a 400 watt bulb. Growing in a grow hut (4x4) I've been told about 5 different chems to use, where one person says don't use that use this etc. Given the system being used, what would be the best or most efficent chems to use for this hydro system?

And your thought's on sweet. What are the pro's & cons for using sweet in an ebb&flo? I don't want to clogg up anything using it if it's not worth it.

any other infomation anyone can provide to help make it a bountiful grow would be great!

I´ve been using Dutch Formula´s Grow, Micro and Bloom and X-Cel from Bio-Nova so far so good...as far as i know Advanced Nutrients are also very good (never tried them tho)...i had a few plants in a bubbler wich was running the Dutch Formula nutes and after 4 weeks i had 10" tall and 13" wide plants (under 2x18w fluro tube + 2x40w fluoro tubes as side lighting), they were so big that i had to change them from the closet they were in and put them in another room running ebb & flow (this was monday night btw) i´m still using the same nutes but in this room i´m using a 400w hps the plants are GREAT!!!!!!I´m sticking with these nutes....

If you have tons of money and like to kill tons of plants, buy Advanced Nutrients. Great when you finally figure it out, but still very expensive if you use their whole line as they suggest.

GH is good. All you need is the Micro and the Bloom used in the proper ratios.
0-5-10 for vegging and 0-10-15 for flowering. All the numbers are in ml per gallon of H2o

Also, Pure Blend Pro is really good. I have a friend who uses PBP Bloom through both the veg and the flower stage. For flowering use 15ml of PBP per gallon of water and 5ml of CalMag per gallon of water.

Personally, I use the AN "Grow" parts A&B for vegging and the above flowering forumla for PBP.

Dude i never contest other growers nutrient solutions but 0-5-10 for veg sounds wrong to me....during veg u should give the plant higher amounts of Nitrogen and smaller amounts of Phosphorus and Potassium, and do exactly the opposite when flowering, lower Nitrogen and higher Phosphorus and Potassium...and yes Advanced Nutrients is expensive but like someone that i know allways says...."If u go cheap u grow cheap" tks "Z"....Peace and Pot

Isn't that the standard Lucas GH formula for vegging ... 0-5-10? Its what I used successfully for a few years. Its been awhile so I may be wrong ... but I don't think so.

Whoops, I just did a double check ... the flowering ratio should be 0-8-16. Sorry. The 0-5-10 was correct for vegging.

Omega and others, they are talking about a recipe in ml/gallon of GH Flora series 3-part nutrient. They state it as Grow-Micro-Bloom, or 0-8-16. So use 8ml/gal of Micro and 16 ml/gal of Bloom.

I use more like 10-5-3 for veg and 3-7-10 for flowering.

You can completly eliminate the "Grow" (that's the green one) when using GH nutes if you follow the 0-5-10 for vegging and 0-8-16 for flowering. All you need is the Micro and the Bloom.

gh flora 3 part nutes the numbers are the mils of each needed for gal of ro water.
0 = grow
5mils = micro
10mils = bloom........ thats for vegg no need for the grow at all

0 = grow
8 mils =micro
16mils = bloom...... thats for flowering again no need for the grow


if you need the add back formula i`ll post it too.this formula has been around for years and it works well with no additives.lucas has also worked out formulas for some other popular nutes like pro blend ,flora nova and flora hard water.

I also use 3 part nutes but from Dutch Formula "Grow" its just one of the main Macro Nutrient suppliers, in this case would be Nitrogen...like i said before i never contest other growers nute solutions, and even if it doesn´t sound to good if u have good results with it by all means use it....

I used Lucas' GH formula for years with really great results. I changed over to PBP because one of my friends uses it ... and he has some of the tastiest pot I've ever smoked. He uses Pure Blend Pro BLOOM for veg and flowering. He adds the CalMag when flowering. And ... he never flushes at the end of harvest. Go figure.

How many times and how long should the pump go on?

How often should I change the water and nutrients?

Every hear of sweet? What are your thoughts on adding this to the water and nutrients?

I'm ordering c02 boost this week, but don't know much about it. I really don't want to have tanks. I know it's expensive, but it looks like the best unit for my situation.

Hey Redd..muchos gracias on that tip about the Pro Blend Blume..cuz this dopehead zitface at the hyro shoppe said it was good. Ain't never been opened..cuz he said to save it for bloom. Hard to get good help these days huh? Now I aint understanding how them folks are supposedly skipping nitrogen when they want some explosive growth on grass. Works the same way on real grass too come to thunk on it huh? Gets me wondering whut they smoking? Sure would be nice to have some of that.
