Does that mean Lowes will carry the brand? Would you call them sellouts to big corporate? What to expect...

I wouldnt look at anything as being a sell-out. I'm sure GH saw it as an exit strategy so that they can move on with their lives finally. Sometimes the offer is too great to turn down. However, be on the look out for a new GH spinoff brand not associated with Scott's.

I like GH products, though I do not use them. I do however think that the GH mentality at their facilities and processing plants will be affected by the larger Scott's corporate mentality. Changes will be made. Consumer ultimately pays in the end.

Expect to see a hybrid company, maybe something like General Miracle Grow. GH sold the same kind of crap that Scott's offers so there won't really be much difference except that GH charges a whole lot more for their mineral salts so Scott's is pretty happy about that. Idiot cannabis growers will pay whatever they're told.
