So I made a...drying tube? Lol

Lmao by all means listen to this guy and jar it when it's too late if the stems are snapping

I don't usually give advice anymore because I spend the time and people don't listen anyway and others give misinformation then they learn the hard way, plus this may be my career one day and I don't really need to teach possible competition not to mention I've probably typed this information out for people to find already five times but I digress...
That ^ is all FACT the following is factual opinion lol, yes it can leave a slight flat side at the beginning but when the buds go into the jar they will compress down a bit anyway. That's part of the key to nice tight buds having a tight full jar in cure and you don't really see much in the way of flat spots on the final product for these reasons. Not to mention I'm not talking about using a piece of plastic or anything they make light, soft material racks with holes in each level to minimize surface contact which in turn causes very little pressing. I've never been a fan of hang drying or drying before trimming and I have tried both. the biggest reason for this is when you're trying to uniformly dry a mass of, anything really, you're going to have damp spots or spots on your cola that will take more time than others to dry. Of course this principle gets worse the larger your colas get. When you're drying uniformly sized buds that get even air contact on the entire surface (what would normally be hidden inside the cola) you get a more even dry. You also get a faster dry time due to the fact that the huge stalk inside, which holds moisture the longest, is no longer leeching that moisture into your bud. By removing the main stalk and all material you don't care about before the dry, you're removing moisture from the area plus more surface area speeds the drying in itself. You're also discarding parts of the plant that can contribute to an unpleasant smell which may linger for some time after if not discarded before drying. I am THAT GUY to all my friends, the connoisseur, the one that would worry about flat buds or the possibility of losing trichs on a dry rack etc. And after a good level of experience (see avatar) I can say confidently that trimming before drying and disassembling the plant down to buds immediately then using a dry rack is the way that has served me best in ALL aspects.
This is my opinion but this tutorial would dry my buds way too fast.

I hang uniformly cut branches with buds and trim still attached. Dries in closet for 6 to 7 days and then into paper shopping bags for 1 or 2 more to tighten up a bit more.

Then into jars for burping every day at first and less by the end of the week.

And this only starts a good slow cure. It still needs time to be of connisour quality.

What you describe is how I quick dry for more immediate use.

Yeah man I've literally read 100 different ways to dry and cure, it's almost overwhelming lol. I got trust in the kermit tho. And hell this is my first grow, I'll have plenty more attempts to try other ways if this way doesn't suit me. I think this bud will be better than Anything I've ever smoked before. I appreciate your info sir. I know CFL doesn't make crazy dense buds but from looking at the pics do you think they will be airy as hell when they are done drying and curing?

I agree with you it dries faster..i dry for two to three days and cure for two to three weeks with ZERO consequences to the final product. My stuff holds up to dispensary grade in Colorado.. The key is to not cut it to buds then also still dry for five days... All we are doing here is cutting down on the dry time we are not affecting the cure whatsoever

So I chopped a big juicy cola off my first plant and I'm quite proud of it being my first grow and for using CFL only. unfortunately for me, the week I'm harvesting it's supposed to storm for 7 days straight essentially. My house humidity is ~60% when it is usually around 40. So I looked through my grow room junk box and found the cardboard tube one of my CFL lights came in and an old computer power supply, gutted it then spliced the fan into a usb cable. I hung some twine across the top of the tube and hung the bud down into the tube. I plugged the fan up and places it on top of the tube blowing very lightly down into the tube. I'll post pics of the bud and my set up. Do you guys think this will help me dry this thing out where my humidity is so high? Or am I wasting my time or even hurting my dry. I know a slower dry and cure is better but this thing is thick as hell and I don't want moldy weed. Thanks for any help in advance!!!View attachment 3760514View attachment 3760514 View attachment 3760515
I really enjoy seeing stuff like this wanna know why??????
Ive done it myself lol. First time I pushed out decent flowers i was growing in a hotel room lmao .no really, i them used so no tubes from a foundation laying for a porch....tried it but after reading on proper curing and etc i have moved on. Nothing wrong with having an engineering mind man.

Good call it will be nice to come back fresh to your own product! I've actually had to quit for the Last week and next few also :( getting a new job... It's brutal lol
Good luck pissing clean bud! I quit for a job last year and had been smoking wax for a few weeks straight before hand. I failed it after 64 days with no ingestion of any sort of marijuana. I was blown the fuck away and really upset cause it was a killer job that I really needed at the time.

Also this being your first go whichever methods you take you have a chance of making mistakes.. So of course what works for one of us may seem not to for you until you have that concrete grasp on the whole process. Example I've taught two friends how to grow start to finish and both still messed up on the cure their first time on their own. One dried too fast and I suspect had a hot room, the other didn't get his jars opened enough and had a little mold! I do hope you get the feel for it naturally fast and it turns out great for you the first time!

No they look great man! Just the slower they dry the better.

The old farmers around me have the best tasting outdoor pot. Not the most potent but you could smoke joints all day just for enjoyment.

They hang entire plants almost 9 feet tall on average in their barns. With all the leaves still attached. It takes almost two months but when it's dry it is already tight protected and cured.

Slow dry is key. But the above methods will most likely still give you the good pot you want.

WOW!! did you change your diet at all or work out? Mind if I ask if you're heavier or have a slow metabolism?
I CANNOT fail this test lol!! I am a heavy user and last time I took one I asked the lab my levels after twenty one days I was at 48ng with an altered diet, high water intake, and daily workout or cardio... So I was going to give myself thirty days to get hopefully below 15ng just in case they send me through the mass spec. Appreciate the insight man

I missed the 3 weeks in the jar. That is a slower cure. Have you compared wet and dry trim. Dry wins all out for me.

The only thing you can do for test besides already having a fast metabolism is dilute your urine. Drink a ton of water and when you pee for the test release some urine first (it packs substances up until released like a faucet and iron in the well water) and fill the sample jar from the clear steam in the middle of your pee.

You can only hope for inconclusive test results or to be under the minimum test level. Other than that the thc can store in your fat cells for months so it will always be a gamble.

My girlfriend always gets clean pee and sneaks it in for her job.

So a dark decent sized room can be used to hang entire plants.......just have the air in thw room moving slightly.also not blowing directly on any hanging plants.......sounds good to me

I have for bubble and I found that the wet trim didn't return as well and was a stickier chunk of bubble than with dry trim so I do also prefer dry. In Colorado they are selling bho that has been made immediately with fresh material for.. Brace yourself 180 a g!! They reason that it's full flavored and contains more terpenes due to the immediate extraction..i say they are cashing in on tourists with a novelty but I haven't tried it to know for sure if it's something special. Company is called mohatma or similar I believe
