Snapped at stem, fatal?

Good day everyone,

Ive just come home to my fan resting on one of my baby girls. Unfortunately it has snapped a branch and the branch is only just hanging on with a little chunk out the stem too.

In the ideal scenario id love to save the branch but im more worried that it'll have a serious affect on the rest of the plant! Any recommendation?

I'll provide some picture. I didnt turn the lights off as the plant is pretty healthy other than this. However is the light is a hindrance, I'll retake them.

Thank you kindly.

Tldr? Plants brant has broken off at stem, will it kill of the rest of the plant? Will it kill off the stem? Is the stem salvageable.

Afraid i only had swan and *insert name here of other bird... mallard(?)* tape so i had to use that.

No really, thanks for the reply everyone. I know this may sound silly but i swear the leaves are already looking a little perkier.

Many thanks.

That's amazing. I wouldn't even know where to get pink power rangers bandaids from.

Is there a shop that specialises in just pink power ranger bandaids? That doesn't seem like a very good business plan. Haha.

ive snapped branches like that and taped them back with duct tape and everything was ok and the buds continued to get bigger.

i split a stalk about 8 inches down last harvest and velcroed it together, it healed in like 3 days and grew 2 golf ball sized knots at the top of the split. that plant was over half my yield from a 1000w, it actually beat the other 2 plants by almost double.

easiest way to get a thick stalk is to beat it up

i feel dirty after saying that.

use some duct tape and leave it for a week, it will be fine.

P.S. I am serious about the duct tape and this is not a "duct tape fixes everything" joke.
I break branches all the time...messing with my crop canopy to get maximum yield. And tape wrapped around the break at the "crotch" of the wishbone works to mend it everytime. i even go up past the break with the tape..pulling the branch break tight together. Forms a little "pocket" that I always spray a squirt of diluted kelp and humic acid in there for even more speedy recovery. When its healed up it forms a big as callous "knuckle" at the break and alot of times the buds from the main broken branch become the biggest best ones. All has to do with hormones. The plant shoots a ton of auxins and cytokinins towards the break in an effort to heal herself. Whats leftover after healing make the flowers super potent big and tasty.

I'm going to try avoid the habit of dropping my fan on my girl haha.

Interesting what you all say though. Should i keep an extra eye on this particular one for the chance of hermie? The seeks are meant to be feminized autos so I'm expecting them to begin showing sex any time now.

Thanks again everyone.

Oooo, another question. If it does hermie, would it be just that branch or will the snap have an impact on the whole plant?

if it hermies it wont be the fans fault

You underestimate my ability to blame anything else other than me for when things go wrong hahaha.

To be honest, looking at the leaves you cannot tell that they are on a weak branch.

As always, I appreciate all the replies.

If you get hermies from anything slight in the grow room..short of massive photoperiod fluctuations...or blatant light leaks..you can bet your sweet dollar that the seed maker who ultimately sold you the seeds didnt do thier part. Genetics that intersex at the slightest grower hiccup isnt the growers fault...at all. And iam tired of hearing stories otherwise. Those kinds of seeds were a pollenchuck hope and a prayer at best...regardless of the hype..price.. marketing...intentions or "street cred" of the so called breeder.

You shouldn't have to tip toe around some new hot seed strain for fear of hermaphroditism. Total breeder (or lack thereof) fault.

You could rip your plant in half before it would herm out if it's got a good environment and halfway decent genetics.
