Smokepitt has aproblem with the grow pit

I've just signed up to this site to pick the brains of various other users . I need a bit of help but hopefully it'll be itchy scratchy so I can help out others in future.

Well I got a bit greedy in the grow pit and I've got too many seedlings indoors under the lights.
I want to put some of them outside but this means reducing the light cycle.
They are little babies at 4 weeks old on 18 hour cycle so can I put them onto 13 hour cycle to get them ready to go out.
On older plants this would obviously start the flowering cycle but I'm hoping I can still find a way of reducing the light cycle without confusing them too much.
I've been told I would need to put them in the dark for two days and then to change the light cycle afterwards.
Once these little darlings get going they become family so I gotta do the right thing
and give them a decent life outside
Its getting a bit crowded in here so I would appreciate if any pros out there could help out my little green nieces.
Thanks to anyone who replies. Smokepitt
