smells like hay

So left plant in dark for 24hrs after 1.5 week flush, i took all fan leaves off before i left plant it dark for 24hrs.

I hanged up in a small unit i made into a dry place which has a fan blowing cold air not directly at buds but hitting wall.(buds are spaced out and upside down) Temp was around 20 low and 22 max with around 40 himidity reaching 50 max for first 3 days after 3 days the buds where crispy but and twigs would half snap and bigger ones wouldn't only bend. (lost its lovely smell and smells like hay) so i moved them into jars and put them into my spare bedroom in a box as the room is cold with good humidity. (15-18c with 60-70 humidity). They have been in jars for around 1 day now 2nd day today and buds are not crispy but not wet.

i had 2 branches i couldnt hang so i left to dry and now they are crispy dry but dont have the nice smell they did before hanging.

any one know why or if its normal?

Temp and humidity Is very important while drying and curing

http://www.growweedeasy.com/drying-curing

Read this tutorial.

But you may have let them get too dry, but curing and boveda humidipaks may help you safe your haybale harvest ;)
well i have read some people say it will come back and ready up people saying not to wet trim before drying as will smell like hay? im not sure what to believe. My brother and uncle grew said they lost some smell but never smelt like hay, im growing trainwreck fem but if it doesn't come back then ill just use it for Oil.

Try curing for a few weeks

your RH was too low and they dried too fast. the initial dry is when most of the chlorophyll, sugars and carbs get broken down. it takes at least 5 days for that to happen. 7-10 is better. if your weed drops below 62% water content, that process stops, and you cannot start it again.
you need to keep your drying area around 65% RH, which should slow it down long enough for the processes that need to happen to occur.

Situation normal. burp those jars once twice a day forthe first week or so, then once every couple days, always shake the buds around to make sure no wet spots develop where they touch each other, then shut them up and forget about them for a couple weeks, if the relative humidity in the jar is between 62-70% you are in okay shape, usually.

The Grow Weed Easy tutorial is pretty good, I second following that.

it sounded to me like some of it was okay and some of it was too dry. Without a hygrometer in the jar, who knows? But yes, OP, what Rog says.

The hay smell is a normal thing during dry and early cure, the smell comes back after a couple weeks in the jar.

i have burped the jar 3 times per day only been in jars for 2 days next 2 plants im going to dry in spare room as its cold 15c lowest @ 65-70 Humidity.
that sounds way better. 15 may be a little cool, but honestly, the longer it takes to dry, the better it will be. just keep an eye on pm or mold forming. keep your fan blowing around the perimeter, and you should be good.

me too, but i can't eat that shit, i'd be violently ill for days 8(
my stomach is soo fucked up.
For my fucked up guts Indian spices, particularly veggie dishes, seem to be therapeutic. (Not a veg or vegan at all) I don’t make it raging hot, but I do grow cayenne and habaneros every year...so I guess I can still handle some heat. Drinking a big glass of water too fast can set my guts off for a week, though. It can really be anything, no rhyme or reason.

What is this thread about? I forgot.

first grow so trying to get it right. the room is lowest 15.5c and 60 humidity lowest, should i hang it up or in a carboard box? also do u just have fan blowing around room not actually at the buds.
