Smart Pots: Good or Not?

I have 6 girls growing, each in 3 gallon Smart Pots (FFOF). I must say that they are all very vigorous plants. I have to admit though that I am still caught off guard by the frequent watering required. My faucet water is extremely hard and unusable, so I actually go and buy distilled water. One week into flowering, it seems like I am having to water about every third day (i.e. - WATER, not, not, WATER, not, not). I initially thought that I could get away with watering every 5th day or so, but I keep waking up and finding some of the girls all droopy and falling over. It is now several times my ass has been at the grocery store in the early hours of the morning buying gallons of distilled water. I know it is a small price to pay for having 6 healthy girls (2 NL, 3 WW, and 1 Super Skunk - all feminized seeds and confirmed female). I am just saying that now that the plants are becoming big beauties, as a general rule I buy a half dozen gallons of Distilled water every time I leave the house. As for the pots themselves, I am sold. My girls just took off after transplant into these things. I will use them again. I might go straight from seed in the smart pots next time.

This was a year ago. Im still using the same ones and wont use anything else. They are the the bomb for me...

Check out Root Pots, Im tring them now, half the price but I dont like them as much as the Smart Pots. The stitching is sub par and they degrade after a while. So far the Smart Pots are wash and wear! lol

lol I was just talking about these in another thread. I use the C.A.P. Gro Pots and they work sweet and have handles. I use the 5 gallon pots.

I use SmartPots. I like them, but my favorite is plastic square pots.

For the people who say, "you can just throw them in the wash" obviously has never touched a SmartPot. Yes, you can wash them and reuse them, but it is a pain in the ass compared to plastic pots. It is a messy process but can be done.

I had the company custom make some smaller SmartPots for me for a SOG experiment I am currently preparing so I am excited to see how that goes.

As far as yield goes, I notice no difference except that my plastic pots so far have out producing them.

I do live in a very hot and humid region, so that could be part of the reason I prefer plastic over cloth.

Can you stick smart pots in the washing machine if you can what can i use to get rid of the minera build up

I wouldn't know. I have never washed my SmartPot in the washing machine. I wash them by hand.

they work wonderful for me but the only probably i had with them is that they got mold on the fabric all around the pots

I had one SmartPot (5g) mold up on me as well. It was outside.

did it affect your plant??and what did you do to get rid of it?

No, it did not effect my plant.

I hand washed the SmartPot.

The smart pots are the best container I have used and they are reusable. Its root mass is incredible when your done with harvest. I can't even imagine using coco in them. Get em and put em on buckets for a drain and to keep the bottom elevated.
