This is my first grow and I'm going to be growing 2 plants.. The two seeds I've planted are:

Barneys Farm Seeds Critical Kush
Dinafem Seeds Kush'N'Cheese

The paper towel germination was completed 11 days ago (October 14th) and I planted them in their temporary container at that time..

Two days later (October 16th)(Day 3) this is what they looked like:

Three days after that (October 19th)(Day 6) we were working with a more level playing field..

As of yesterday (October 24th)(Day 11) here is how they are both looking.. They're doing well but I do think I did not have enough drainage holes in the bottom of the Solo cup plus I was not watering enough with each water as to allow 20-30% to drain out the bottom. As of today the leaves look a little droopy, as in the whole leaf not just the tips. I've gotten this corrected though and should be great from here on out.

Lastly, here's some pics of my setup. I'm running the MarsHydro 300W LED (170-190W Output) in a 2.5'x1.5x3' tent with a Ventech 4" 190 CFM fan hooked up blowing through the carbon filter at about 70-80%. With this much area do you guys think this fan is too little or too much? Temperatures are about 9-12F higher than ambient temperature in the rest of the closet/room.

This is my first grow but I'll post updates periodically if you guys would like. I will be moving to 3 gallon smart pot containers when the time is right. I also plan to build a SCROG in the next few weeks that I will use when they get tall enough.

Here's an eBay link to the light I'm using:

Day 14...

The plant on the left is definitely showing what I think are symptoms of over-watering/poor drainage. This began Friday evening and on Saturday I punched more holes in the bottom of the cup and actually watered well enough to allow for 20-30% run off (I had not done this before) I have only been watering every 5-7 days or so, so it's odd that this is happening. Do y'all think if I don't water/overwater in the next few days it will begin to "perk up"?

Also, how far out from needing to re-pot them am I? This is my first grow and I hate to see their leaves pressed up against the side of the cup.

Could be overwatering, but it sounds like you have been stretching it out, which is good. Seedlings don't need much for the 1st couple of weeks.
My concern would be damping off, if non-watering over the next few days doesn't improve anything.....

Is there enough drainage in the bottom of the cup? Does it sit in run-off at all? :peace:

It can take a while before you need to transplant. Although if you absolutely wanted to, it could be done today. They are old enough, but they will thrive for a couple of weeks before they need transplanted.

I poke holes all up the sides of the cups, similar to airpots, that way roots can air prune and that can help with getting rootbound.

Also, even if you experience rootbound plants when transplanting, an old trick is to take a very sharp cutting utensil and cut the outer root ball. Starting from the top to the bottom and penetrating only about 1/4" as you slice. You can do this in several spots around the root ball, before re-potting. [I suggest lots of practice with this method if ever used, as you can fuck shit up in a hurry, but is tried and true in the bonsai world....]
