Small grow cabinet. need opinions about it :)

hi every one. this is my first post!
I deg this site for the last few days and read alot of precious info, thank you all for being here and contributing

anyway, I decided to build my own grow cabin, so I got a small TV entertainment system cabin which is similar to a cube shape.
the exact size of it is:
height - 27"
width - 25"
depth - 21"

I also thought about the setup:
1.an 150w MH bulb for the veg period and a 150w HPS bulb for the flowering period. bulbs inside a reflector.
2.cover the indise of the cabin with reflective material.
3. two 4" vents (intake and outtake) to cool it up + a homemade carbon filter for the outtake one.
4. one or maybe two plants growing in soil medium.

So far i bumped into a few questions that maybe you all could help me with:
1. Is 150w HPS / MH okay for this small size? I just don't wanna mess around with CFLs..
2. Can I grow white widow/eldorado or any other sativa seed that claims to grow to a 'medium' / 'high' level of height in this small cabin, and keep them under ~25" ? (according to Nirvana seeds website) I really don't want the indica ones..
3. Do you think this space can suit 2 plants when they get to their final stage?

Thanks very much! here's a lousy drawing of this space

I would stay away from the HPS bulbs with that kind of height your gonna need space of 12" most of the grow subtract that from 27 and your looking at 15" of premium grow space. that did one that size and went CFL with o.k results. your trading yeild for stealth. but 15" then take away the size of the pot and root system 3"-6" thats gonna be 12" at best so go dwarf plants if your gonna do it and/or do a 12/12 light system from seedling phase. good CFL's can really be effective in the veg phase.

Oh i almost frogot if you use a cool tube you'll be able to get amazing results with that thing, or build in a internal light chamber into the box. then the plants won't need that 12" buffer from the heat of the bulb.

Thanks Budgetgrower, I think I'll put a glass shield to create a chamber for the 150w hps,
do you think a small computer fan will be enough to cool this light chamber up ?(it will include the built in ballast right next to the bulb)

I read that a glass shield / cooltube reduces the lumens of the system, will it be crutial here since it's a small chamber with a strong 150w hps / mh ?https://www.rollitup.org/members/budgetgrower87-91580.html or will it still be good strong light?

And regarding the strains, do you think any 'medium' sized sativas will produce nice in there?

I must have all the information right before I put my good money on a light system :) can't wait to grow..

That is a huge amount of light for the demintions of your cab. I used a 150w on a cab twice as big with amazing results. Yours will be great. Strains play a big roll but how you do your light hours will take the most effect. I strongly reccomend a external ballast. and the PC fans are a great tool for these cab grows. check out HTGsupplies for good deals on the External ballast combos.

sounds great, can't wait to see pictures/ numbers on your yeild. Order Fox farm growbig and big bloom, and tigerbloom. That $45.00 is the best money you will ever spend on your grow.

"growbig" sounds like it's gonna explode my cabin :)
is there any wide thread about 12/12 growing? couldn't find any..

I'm not sure it's also called hawian style growing basically your going to end up with very dense main bud sites instead of the traditional main bud sight and satillite bud sights around the outer rim of the plant. kinda going to look like a corn dog.

i ordered some seeds, and soon I'm going to buy me a cooltube, lights and all the materials needed.
I just don't think i can make a SAFE cooltube.. I don't want to come back home and see it in flames :)
