Skunk+Haze Tastes Like Poison

I have this Skunk + Haze plant from dopeseeds.com that just finished drying. The buds are stringy but they are covered with silver sparkling resin. Under magnification and to the naked eye it looks almost magical.
The problem is that it tastes so fucking bad that I can't stand anymore than 1 or 2 hits and small hits at that. It leaves that familiar fruity smell on your fingers but the taste makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

Hard to describe what it tastes like. Maybe stale petroleum-ish?

It's not the system they were in because the NL's grown with them taste great.

Did you do a good flush before harvest? How about curing?

Did you just smoke them off the plants or did you let them dry out and cure first? If you did it the first way then yeah that's gonna happen. As a matter of fact that's the only way you could even get bud to taste bad is by smoking it green. Properly dried and cured buds will not taste like poison even if you didn't flush correctly, they will taste like good weed like they're supposed to

it might be because u didn't flush ur plant 1-2 weeks before harvesting.. i've heard people saying that they didn't do it and ended up with bud that tasted kinda soapy.

The plant was small so I hung the whole thing to dry. Didn't cure it, but I have never cured anything I've grown and not had a problem before. This isn't a chlorophyll or soapy taste, but rather something unknown and terrible.

I'm no stranger to harsh weed and often toss a bud or two straight into the food dehydrator for some quick smoke, but this is a very different type of harsh that tastes like something you shouldn't be smoking. Gonna bring some to a friend either today or tomorrow to get a second opinion.

Very interesting, maybe its mold spores or something? I would stop smoking it if it was me, but that's a hard thing to do after all that work and time

I'm gonna try water curing it. I don't really care much if I have to chuck the whole thing since there's not very much bud on it. I had a few (skunk/haze) in there during my 12/12 NL grow, but they got too lanky so I threw all but one out. Maybe there's between and 1/8 or a 1/4 on the whole plant.

I'd really like to see how high it would get me, but I just can't get around the taste. What ever the case, it's not something I'd ever try growing again due to lack of space and only a 250 watt hps. I'll stick with my auto ak47 seeds I bred back in the winter. I've got a ton of them.
