don't blame the mucus, it's inflammation in the nasal cavity. here, have an advil for nasal decongestion.

try one of those nettie pots or whatever they are... where you pour the warm saline through your nostrils... it can help if you aint too messed up :)

you gotta hold your head right so it doesn't leak down your throat man...but netti pots are the fucking bomb seriously...hang your head over the sink and to the side shove it up your nose thats higher, keep tilting while keeping head down and BREATH THROUGH YOUR MOUTH..it really works...

I get sinus infections just about every year and I would usually goto the doctor and get a z-pack to clear it up, but the last 2 years I've just used a netti pot repeatedly throughout the day, not only did it relieve the sinus pressure, it helped my body clear up the infection on its own by getting the mucus moving instead of just sitting there growing :D

[SIZE=-1]Check online... i tried this last year and it worked a treat.......Found apple cider vinegar on this site. After the first glass of ACV and honey, I felt really tired and went to bed. When I got up, I could breathe much better. The green stuff I was coughing up was much lighter. I had another glass after lunch. Within a few minutes I was feeling even better and the mucus had turned almost clear. By that evening, I was even better and could breathe just fine and was not coughing, no headache. This stuff has worked a miracle in me. I am hooked! If you have a sinus infection, it is definitely worth a try!" google it for directions!!!!

It sounds like your issue is beyond what over the counter meds are going to help with(plus they dont treat the disease...they treat symtoms)...you might have to break down and goto a walkin clinic...you can probably find some low income place in your area...they don't charge an arm and a leg...they can sometimes give you samples of meds instead of having to go buy a perscription...call around see what you can do man...

best words of advise in regards to sinus issues is if they persist for over 2 weeks...get that shit looked at...remember all those ducts are connected and can spread to your brain...you want to die?

Well I cant catch it before I get the infection but I will be adding one more thing to my list of "DRUGS" to beat this.
My Plan of Attack:
Shots of ACV like its whiskey,

Snort the Netty Pot like its Coke,

Eat Mucinex like pain pills

and drop dissolvable claritin like Acid. Just need a smoking remedy now and I should have all the bases covered.

"BEST REMEDY: APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar is our favorite remedy for stopping sinus infections. We wish more people knew about this amazing home treatment. The idea is to take apple cider vinegar before the sinus infection occurs, which for most people is at the start of allergies, colds, flu, etc.
We have found that when apple cider vinegar is taken either as a daily tonic or at the first sign of an allergy or cold (i.e., sinus headache, stuffy nose, watery eyes), one can completely stop the histamine response or allergic reaction.
There are a couple ways you can drink apple cider vinegar ("ACV"). One way is to put 1/8 to 1/4 cup ACV in 16 oz of water and sip it throughout the day. The other method is to gulp 2 TBSP of ACV in 8 oz of water all at once.
If you have an existing sinus infection, keep drinking a mixture of ACV and water throughout the day for several days.
Please remember -- the key to success is to use apple cider vinegar before a sinus infection appears (i.e. during the first stages of a flu or allergy attack, or after you've eaten a bowl of ice cream).
Question: Why does ACV alleviate sinus congestion so quickly?
Answer: ACV thins mucus almost immediately. One of the first things you will notice after drinking apple cider vinegar is that the color of your mucus goes from white or green and thick, to thin and clear. The thinning of mucus is the key to kicking your sinus infection. Once you have thin mucus, you can clobber the infection with one of many remedies from this page. Wild oregano oil is one of our favorites for bacterial infections, but grapefruit seed extract is also very potent. Whatever remedy you try, remember to keep up the apple cider vinegar throughout the day for several days and drink lots and lots of water."

I'm being serious...the amount of over the counter medications you are taking beyond the recommended dosage is fuxing with your immune system...you know that thing that fights off disease in your body? Fluids, Rest, Zinc, Vitamin C all help your immune system do its job, antibiotics yes they kill harmful bacteria, but at the same time kill off white blood cells leaving your immune system vulnerable to other diseases for a length of time after taking them...

I'm just saying be careful man...don't want to end up in the hospital with pneumonia or something...

Antibiotics don't actually kill white blood cells (that'd be silly), but a persons WBC count may go down while they are on a course of antibiotics because the antibiotic lessens the presence of the infectious agent(s)...hence your immune system may lessen the response. ABs typically work by interfering with protein synthesis inside of a bacterial cell, or prevent the bacteria from being able to build it's cell wall. Higher animals including humans are eukaryotic while bacteria are single celled prokaryotic organisms, which means our ribosomes, general cellular structure and organelles are vastly different. The result is that most common antibiotics wont affect our cells.

However, you body also has 'good' microbes inside of it, primarily in your intestine. They help to keep your GI-tract healthy and regular, and prevent toxin-producing microbes from thriving. Antibiotics don't distinguish good from bad bacteria, and in some people the good gut flora populations becomes substantially reduced after a course of anti-biotics. The result is pseudomembranous colitis or anti-biotic associated diarrhea which is caused when other toxin-producing bacteria maintain free-reign over your intestine.

Even for a person who doesn't have health insurance, there may be free-care clinics in your area that will provide health care for free or reduced rates.
