I popped 8 Sinmint Cookies from SinCity Seeds trying to find a good pheno to keep as a mother.
SinMint #1 popped on July 30th.
SinMints #2-5 popped on August 2nd.
SinMints #6-8 popped on August 3rd.
Does anyone know what I should look for in a keeper pheno? I tried to find a thorough journal on the Sinmints, but was unable to find any.

I'm on a similar hunt but with some bodhi seeds. You pretty much have to clone each one and wait right till the end, shitty deal but I'd rather do that then trust someone on the internet whos likes warm beer, fishing and fat women......do that and you'll end up with a pheno that tastes like warm beer, smells like fish and looks like a fat woman.....and by listening to him of course u already threw out the ones that would of been the real killer.lol
Trust your own senses, your the one thats gonna smoke it.

Ps: post up which phenos are the keepers lol.....just for shits and giggles right ;-)

Well, I plan on running them all until the end, but was just curious about what traits I should look for

Hey cranky looking good man. I've got 5 Sinmint Cookies I just got going as well will be interesting to see how they go for us. I've been following a couple grows on the sin city seeds forum with them, and some seem impressive. I've heard a few reports of some smelling like Andies mints. The most recent one I'm watching is only a week into flower and he rubbed the stem and said it distinctly smelled of mint. I don't know I'm sure they will be dank from what I've seen. Well I'm off to transplant mine into some cups!

Maybe we can share some notes, TC.
Have you seen any phenotypes that are noteworthy? Structure, yield, color, and potency-wise?
Also, good luck with your ladies bro. Hope you find a keeper as well!

I have seen some really nice plants over here: http://homeofthedank.com/forum/showthread.php?97-SinMint-s-6-planted-6-sprouted there was another another thread on that site where the guy had finished some of them, and they look really nice, but he didn't have much to say about how they were growing or how they smelled or anything very poor journal. A fellow on this site whos name escapes me had posted a report on them a few months back someplace in a thread about GSC I think. He said he had tested the sinmints and had 3 out of 10 that tasted and smelled like Andies mints which sounded very appealing to me :). So with 5 going and in cups now :), I think my odds of getting a minty pheno should be decent. With your 8 you might get 2. I'm guessing from how many are in the container they are regualar beans?

Nah, a dispensary I vend for hooked me up with 15 free feminized sinmints
3/10 minty phenos..? Seems like an okay rate.. How about color changes? Any purple, pink, or exotically colored phenos?

I couldn't tell you anything else sadly, I havn't seen any color changes in the grows I've watched. You lucked out on those for sure usually the Sinmint fems come in 7-8 packs and the regs are in 15s.

I'm rooting for you Crank. When you find that pheno let me know so I can take the trip up there from Fresno and get a cut :p. I have C99 and Super Lemon Haze going but want to get into the SinMints so bad. Good luck finding the hottest chick!

really when your selecting a phenotype you really just want to look for things of personal preference. You want a plant that physically looks stronger to you than the others. Look of the buds, smells during grow and especially near the end. And of course how well the buds compare in taste and effect after harvest. Really its all personal preference in what your looking for to keep as a mother. As simple as this is im sure you already know all of this. Basically just find the one you like the most and keep it :)

Thanks! And yeah, I'll definitely let you know when I find that keeper, but you better share a c99 cutting too!

What?! No colored phenos?!
I was expecting some colors to pop up because of the picture of the mother. And yeah, they definitely hooked me up. Life is good... At times

I know all of that, but there are certain traits that all growers look for in certain strains like colors, smell, and structure. No one looks for the lanky, odorless, and dull budded phenos, right?

exactly, but what im trying to get at follows the old adage of "one mans trash is another mans treasure". What qualities I may look for may not exactly be the same that you yourself want to have in a mother. Color and smell for instance, I may prefer a more brighter limey green color where you may prefer to find something with a more rare type with a pinkish purple hue, neither are bad traits in my opinion just preference. You may be looking for a more sweet citrus smell, where someone else may be looking for a spicier, piney smell. I've never grown SinMint so obviously I don't know what the pheno's are that come with that strain and im pretty sure thats what your asking information on here. Just saying as long as you pick out the pheno that you find the best for you, theres always going to be others who will enjoy the cuttings from her a well.

Well, think it's time for an update.
They're currently under 156 watts of 5500k CFLS with 2 pc fans running on them.
They've been growing pretty well and will be transplanted into 3 gallon smart pots with a 2:1 ratio of FFOF to perlite in a week or so.
All are growing at pretty much the same pace, which is a good thing.
If any of you are wondering what the golden brown thing in the cups are, it's horticultural sand. I'm using it as a precaution against soil-dwelling pests like fungus gnats since I'm using Fox Farms Ocean Forest.
Will be using Dyna Gro for the entire grow.

Also, I've got a question for you all.
What technique do you guys want to see me use on the Sinmint Cookies this time around? LST, topping, etc?
The only technique I want to avoid is Mainlining. Only because it takes too god damn long to veg. And plus, I already have a Zindica mainlined with 8 tops. I'm planning to have 64 tops on her and fill half of my tent with her.
