I know right i was thinking the same thing. Must be nice. i am saving just to try to buy the stuff for my 1st diy light and its only a 4 cob light. I want to build 2 for my grow space but money talks right.
Only reason I don't have one right now. Bills got me strapped for cash but I am def. gunna be grabbing a Cobb or Cree kit when I get an extra cash.

I've been running my LED at about 17-18inches at the closest as youngins. Starting 12/12 and gunna let em stretch to about 12" away. I've been too paranoid to go closer.
I haven't noticed any bleaching or curling or anything and my light is currently around 9 inches from the top of my plant, but better safe than sorry right?

It depends on how the mars 300 performs on flower for me tbh. If I yield enough there's no reason for me to change. But I might transform the mars 300 into a cob setup, with 4 cobs if possible.. 150$ isn't that bad, and most parts are easily available, so not that expensive.

I hear ya on the strapped for cash part. As for grabbing a kit or two hells ya i dream and look at parts everyday. I am going to go with Citizen cobs for my build when i do get the finaces to do it. Actually even thought about selling one of my mars 600's and using the cash to build one of my cob lights and then sell the other one to build the other.

Yes i have been considering this route too Just matching cobs to the 4 drivers in my Mars is the part i have been researching. Figuring out how many cobs per a driver. If i went Cree i could go with 2 of the 36V cobs per driver or 1 72V cob per a driver. So 8 of the 36V or just 4 of the 72V. So many options but makes it fun right.

Day 18 - 28c 50rh% 2 tops starting to show :D

Should I be removing some of the lower nodes?

Just my opinion but i would remove the 2 at the soil line that can touch the medium so they have no chance of getting fungus started on them. Just make sure your pruning tool is sterlie before using them on your plant and cut as close to the stalk as possible. I usually buy a box of alcohol wipes and they go along way.

I have no idea to be honest. I thought I should just go by the height. But my feeding chart says 3 weeks of veg.. which I find a bit.. well.. not enough..

Ya its really a preference of the grower on how long they veg. Depends on how they decide to train too for plant structure. And yes also on height restrictions of your grow area too.and what strains they run. Best bet is to do a little research on the strain you are growing and it will give you a general idea of how tall it will get. I flipped my Blue Dream @12" and with some topping they ended up about 36" in the end.

Are you measuring from the ground in the pot, or from the floor? ^^

Soil line to the top of the plant. I dont consider pot height which is another 7in for my 3 gallon smart pots. So 43" total from the floor of my tent. My tent is only 60 inches tall so with the light height of 18" from the top of my plants it gets close for me growing tall plants. That is why i top/Lst and last grow i did a scrog to control height. With the Blue Dream i just topped a few times and let it grow. You have to watch strains that lean toward the sativa side because some get tall but thats what training is all about.

A lot of breeders will tell you if the strain will be short, medium or tall. Sativas are normally taller and indicas stay a bit shorter. The 50/50 hybrids are somewhere in between.

Day 20 - 25c (finally cooling down outside, will be perfect for flowering!) and 50% rh.

I'm not sure if I should be doing anything different right now. Like should I top it more? Should i remove more nodes? Should i do anything else than just watering/nutes/watering/nutes, and keeping the temps and humidity under control?
