Single container DWC. Dividing roots.

Huge dwc enthusiast here.
I recently built an ebb and flow system for my clones to get sizeable in to then transfer to their own individual bucket. The roots though when transplanted had sorta grow in into the hydroton more than I'd like and entangled a bit with each other.
I want to be able to veg in a single container with multiple sites.
That way I can let them get bigger and put into flower when ready. The problem with the ebb and flow now is just that they tangled too much even before they were very sizeable. I'd like to be able to veg longer in it. Anyone have an idea for a dwc or ebb and flow single container, with a big lid with multiple 6-8 net pots in it that I could somehow divide within the water? If I can pull this off, my veg times will be much longet and I won't have to put them in buckets so soon. Because I want a perpetual type grow but with 2-3 months flower, I can't get my dwc system emptied and cleared out for the vegging girls soon enough.

I hope I can explain this. I built a DWC out of a container from Lowes. Its 31x21 in size. I cut 6 4 inch holes. Using 4 inch pots I trim a growdan cube to fit. Then cut a 4 inch pieces of pvc to fit under the 4 inch net pots. This allows roots to grow down tube and stay separated Then you can put them in ebb and flow

That is SO SMART. WOW. But I went ahead and just built a little baby dwc 6 bucket system using just 1gallon buckets. Lids are white but I'll spray paint them with black spray paint for plastic. I'll take pics soon but it's literally what I have now, just mini

Pics. It's not done yet. Gotta put the 1/2" line on for waterfall/supply lines. And the lids won't be here for a few days.

Even though you went another route I figure I'll share a thought I had about this.

Ever see those screens to put over your gutters that are extremely fine little holes to allow water thru but not leaves? Basically like a coffee filter or cheese cloth. I figure if something like that was utilized it would be perfect. Roots wouldn't go thru the extremely fine holes and water would flow freely through.
