Anyone grown these out? I just put in my order for all of these in feminized beans. I've never had a feminized seed hermie on be before but I have had some mutants that straightened themselves out. My grow room is a lil chily in the winter months so I think I may grow the Green Crack or Psyco Crack which I both read have purple phenos. May save the Kali Mist for the summer cause I read equatorial sativas can really be slown down by colder tempatures. I read really good things about all 3 strains just wanting to see the RIU community's input. Thanks

I have a personally selected S1 Green Crack plant (bag seed). Fucking amazing plant... Commercial extraordinaire...
If sickmeds is much like the Green Crack clone, you will love it.

    It branches perfectly...

Click on the Williams Wonder link in my sig below and scroll down a bit.

Without going into detail, I have good reason to believe that a proper grow report will be forthcoming.

Note that with any S1 seed created from a hybrid, you should expect different phenos.

So you can't necessarily expect that a plant grow out of this pack will be exactly like the clone only line.

Green crack is supposedly a Skunk/indica hybrid, so S1 seeds could potentially throw off more sativa/skunk or indica type phenos.

Hank, could you tell us a bit more about your S1 Green Crack? Are you sure its a self-pollenized ceed?
Have you grown out the clone only plant, and is your S1 plant similar to that?
Any comments as to size of plant, leaves, stretchiness, etc?

I don't have experience with the other strains you mentioned but Kali Mist is the real deal. IMO, a lot of strains smoke alike, there seems to be a blandness out there these days. KM is a breath of fresh air, it's unique, it's rushy, it'll rip your head off when grown correctly but it takes a good amount of skill to really do her justice. Kali Mist is what good growers keep in their personal stash not just because it's a step above 'top shelf', but because she can take 100 days to flower and your personal stash can't be refilled very quickly.

    Sure.
Yep. I am sure. I've been a fan of the GC. I know her well. The cut gets grown in this area a bit. She holds pretty much identical features to this plant i hold... the only difference is that the cut produces smaller, tighter nugs and has more of a sweet/fruit smell. More cheeselike calyx.

The seeds were picked out of a couple quantities (1.5p?). If I remember, it was about 7 seeds over 1.5p.. Planted 5. All females. I had purchased this smoke before (from same grower) and it never held seeds. However, these seeds came from a crop that was during a record drought/heat summer that the area had not seen in nearly 80 years... I'm thinking the room was hot and dry, and managed to force this stable clone to throw out just a few male flowers and produce just a handful of seeds over a very large crop.

There was some variety... I narrowed it down to two plants... one was DEAD ON green crack. The bud structure and calyx shape, dead on. However, I ended up selecting one that was a tiny bit more skunk leaning, for the yield. Still, this one is very much like the green crack clone. But with larger buds and a little bit lower odor, which i prefer. (less sweet/fruit). As far as high goes, dead on.

I have grown quite a bit of this plant. She is damn wonderful. She demands root space. If you short her on root space she will produce half the weight. She branches perfectly. The leaves are pretty sativa leaning. Flowered at 11 inches she ended up 32 inches tall. She grows wide. If I would have given her more room she would be wider. She requires a tomato cage... The branches topple under the heavy SKunk buds.

Honestly, I wouldn't trade in this plant for the real cut. If I REALLY wanted the cut, I could go buy it from a local source. I'm convinced this S1 is better. It does everything the GC buds do for me, but higher yielding. Those little tight GC buds are cute though... kinda cheese like calyx... this plant is less that, more skunk buds/calyx.

I am not a commercial farmer... but I would call this plant a commercial extraordinaire.

I'll put up some dry shots later. These skunk buds consolidate after a dry. She looks more like those GC buds after losing some surface area and tightening up.

    Homebrewer,
Good info. I have a line on a KM clone and I needed a little motivation to make it happen. I think I will get on that.

    Hank,

Thanks for that great description. Its good to hear someone with a lot of experience with the clone only line commenting on S1 plants; that was worth a rep.

If you don't mind my asking, what did the three S1 plants you passed over look like? Did they have any negative qualities, or was there anything else notable about them?

FWIW, the breeder from Sickmeds told me that he's grown out a lot of the Green Crack S1s, and although they put out different phenos, in his experience all of the different phenos still put out the characteristic mango/fruity smell, and all of them are done in under 50 days from 12-12.

That GC of yours looks friggen chunky, well done.

In regards to the KM clone, do you know anything about her? In general, people tend to keep bigger yielding, faster flowering cuts and I'd be afraid cuts like that were saved for all the wrong reasons. It would be worth working your way through a pack of beans and selecting the KM that best fits the '90% sativa' description. Then again, I'd be interested to see what that cut has to offer, good luck!

I wouldn't say a lot of experience with the original clone... but a lot of smoking it. If I get handed a bag of gc i know when to call bullshit. It doesn't happen like it did some years ago when there was a little GC hype. It is a go to strain for some larger grows in this area.

The 3 others were not brought to flower, unfortunately. I had a lot going on at the time and had to make tough choices. The narrowing down to 2 was done before flowering.
At that time I was testing out 4 NL plants from peakseeds, 4 Kush x Skunk from peakseeds and 5 Romulan from NexGen? Then the two GC's. All under 1800 watts in a new setup, away from my home... it was a stressful time. I ended up keeping two plants from that test grow. 1 NL and 1 GC. Great plants though. I was watching the GC meticulously during flowering. I was thinking for sure they would blow up with male flowers... never happened.

The 3 were showing pistil pre flowers though. At that time I had low expectations and considered the plants to probably be a waste of flower space. I wish I had grown them out.. I had always heard that bagseed would produce hermies.

I sent the 2 remaining seeds to a friend in MT. They never arrived. :wall:

Things I noticed from the breeder was the purple thing... I've never seen purple GC buds, and I've had a good amount of GC buds pass through my lungs. Also, the pics up for sickmeds look different, to me. I don't doubt they are the real deal... but the plant they used for the picture doesn't look like the GC buds I have known from a local grower, my s1's, or the buds that come by mail to our area. Sweet mango is definitely a good description of both plants grown here. The one i selected is just less over whelming.... the GC dead on plant was very strong smelling. Mine has the same smell, but less punch.

Like you said though, s1s produce variety.

I've taken this plant down at 50 days... I like her more at 60.

Very little, unfortunately... I see what you are saying. I might be better served making my way through a pack of my own.

Again, thanks for the info. I find this fascinating, and helpful.

    Depends on the bag.

The offspring of otherwise stable non-hermie prone lines that get stressed and make a few flowers shouldn't be any more hermie-prone than the parent(s).

GC itself isn't a stable line, but it supposedly comes from two inbred parents, and so I don't think S1s should be likely to give hermies.

Presumably you're talking about the pictures on the breeder's website. Weird how those are all purple-looking. Interesting.

I think many strains, especially indica ones, will turn purple if they're exposed to cold temps late in flowering. I do know that this breeder does at least part of his flowering outside, so I suspect that actually is the case here.

For a number of reasons I won't get into, I strongly doubt that Sickmeds is mis-representing what its selling here. I am firmly convinced that these are, in fact, Green Crack S1.

If you're talking about the picture on the pack I posted, the one on the right with the fan leaves is supposed to be Green Crack S1. The one on the left is Williams Wonder. Since these S1 ceeds can throw off a number of phenos, it doesn't surprise me that the pictures are different than the clone-only line.

Totally. I'm not saying sickmeds is trying to pass something as something that it is not.

That picture actually looks much more like mine than the pics that sickmeds put up on cannazon... these ones..

Every time someone asks about a seed to order, i say try these. I'm super curious.

Well when I receive them in the mail I think I'm gonna grow a bit of both Green Crack and Green Psyco. I just bought another 1000watt digital ballast so i may bump my next grow to 2000watts which i think my room would fit perfectly. Now if the miss`s will allow me is a different story. She gets freaked out enough from me running 1 1000. I`d really love to run both ballasts. I got air cooled hoods the whole nine yards.

^Rad... You gotta let me/us know about those... I have been super curious...
I suspect you are going to be very happy with them.

I know about the miss's deal... Mine capped me too. Damn.

Well, grow journal on Sickmeds Green Crack S1 is up now.

    http://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/601519-sickmeds-green-crack-s1-feminized.html#post8410291

The breeder in question did confirm to me that he flowers outside, and that's why his GC plants turned purple. He also mentioned that the S1 plants seem to turn purple more readily than the parent.

Well, if there was any doubt before, I think its gone now. The Sickmeds S1s definitely do turn purple, that's for sure. See here:
