Show your other piece...

I saw the show your piece thread and thought it was about handguns... I got excited because I just bought a Glock 36 the other day. Spent 4 years in the Navy(its easy to get a license after showing copies of gun quals) and got a conceal carry license at the start of the year without owning a handgun and finally had the cash and decided to get this model. Its loud as a motherfucker but recoil isn't so bad and cleaning the Glock is a piece of cake.

Don't think I'll ever carry it anywhere since you can't really carry it anyways. Bought it for home security and to take with me when I camp (which is frequently during summer).

Here's some pics!
Glock 36 is a subcompact .45 caliber with a 6 round clip. I went with winchester super-x hollow points.

Guns are lame, they are for people who believe when they are told they need them because the government is owned by the gun companies. If the government stood up and banned all guns and did everything in its power to stop them instead or even put as much effort into that as they do into busting pot growers then the world would be getting somewhere.

Hey I agree... it would be nice to have no guns but that is entirely unrealistic. There will always be firearms. No one told me I needed it, I've just spent enough time living to see plenty of innocent people victimized by criminals by either being killed or all sorts of other terrible shit, simply because they had no means of defending themselves. Assuming you're safe in a world where you live with other unpredictable humans, seems a bit naive to me. Do I hope I never have to even raise this thing and point it at another person? Absolutely. In the very rare chance someone armed comes into my home with the intent on harming my family or otherwise, I'd rather have a .45 and a bright flashlight than a baseball bat or kitchen knife.

I live in the uk and things are kind of different here, hand guns were banned a while back and everyone was asked to hand in their guns. Rifles and shotguns and that sort of thing are still allowed but to have one legally means you have to have a license which has strict controls. The gun would always have to be securely locked up in an approriate room or case and then in a secure place en route to the gun club or whatever, guns are only really alowed for recreation here. Besides which a hand axe and a big dog says much more when intruders enter your house.

yeah, I'm all for gun control, and here in Australia I think we have it fairly spot on.

the main thing our laws revolve around is "legitimate reason for ownership".
and "Protection" isn't one of them.

you cant have anything semi auto, auto or pump-action.
and hand guns are really only for target shooters, armed guards and armed forces.

I live fairly rural so I have a few rifles.
I've got a shot gun for clay pigeon shooting.
a .22mag bolt action for varmint shooting
and a .308 for taking down roo's and pigs.

and I have an inspection about once a year to make sure they're still safe to use, and are safely stored away from ammo.

guns are fine... just don't give them to psychos.

... or Americans :P

EDIT:
I'd rather have a .45 and a bright flashlight than a baseball bat or kitchen knife.
I'd take my dogs over a gun any day.

The government is owned by the gun companies? I thought it was owned by oil, tobacco, and pharmecutical companies. You think if gun companies owned the government there would be a lot less restrictions on them. When guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns. Just like weed being illegal I still do it. The Government doesn't make my choices. Disarming the public is one step closer to slavery. I hunt and grow the majority of my own food and my guns sure keep me fed. Fuck em they cant have my iron.

Why would you brits just hand in your guns? Did they pay you guys for them or did people have to donate them? Either way sounds like the Queen mum needs a pistol whip across the face. Owning guns gets rid of tyranny just like when we kicked you brits the fuck out of 'merica

the reason why guns are legal here is because we have the right to form what are known as "state militias" which is somewhat like an amateur army. what this does is give us the ability to forcibly remove our government at any time. the problem is, most people that live here are too fucking stupid and/or lazy to realize this, so they continue to let themselves be led like the sheep they are. BAAAAAAAAA BAAAAAAAAA

I have 2 shotguns. i use them solely for skeet. Both weapons are locked in a gun safe and have trigger locks on them (I have a truck, and need the trigger locks when I am going to the range.) I hope I never need 1 for home security, as I don't think I would get them unlocked before I needed them.

Anyways on to the pics:

Beretta Ultralight over and under 12 gauge 28" barrel:

This is the gun my father gave me after I graduated high school, High Standard 20 gauge pump shotgun 26" barrel:

I wouldn't mind getting a pistol, but I don't think I would ever use it.
