Show us the sift

Really? It would probably work as long as you don't cross the vaporization line. Basically just decarbing the sift. Are you planning on mixing baking soda in as well to get it crystallze?

I use the same type of screens you do @TheEpicFlowers. The finest I have is only 180 micron so the quality isn't the highest. As I mix the kief with BHO or other extracted bud oil to make hash I think the plant material in my kief helps hold the hash together reminiscent of old Temple Ball hash. Full melt kief would just melt into the oil and become more oil. Smokes pretty smooth and works well for hot knifing.

KiefScreens.jpg

The big jar is popcorn bud and sugar leaf that's been broken up through a 1mm mesh screen prior to a quick shake in the 180 one heaping Tbsp at a time. Like you I use nature's deep freeze to help keep trichs intact. The 250ml jar, which weighs 178g empty, is kief processed so far from that big jar. About 6g per oz of pot.

DrySift07.jpg

The process. About 4g kief to 1g oil. Mix in pie plate sitting on a pot of simmering water to desired consistency. Slightly more fluid than you think you want but it firms up as it cools.

A 29g chunk of some of the first I made years ago.

Some I made a couple years back now. Was too oily so ended up adding another 10g to that ball to get it firmed up nice.

I’ve seen the crystalline to expensive just thinking of ways to pull it off and that’s the one method that I can think of powder to crystal
That's something I've been thinking about myself.

Almost 30 years ago in my early 30's I went back to school to get a diploma in environmental chemistry and one of the experiments we did was to extract nicotine from tobacco using vacuum distillation then identify it against a nicotine standard using thin layer chromatography, (TLC).

To do that a sample of tobacco was added to a boiling ball with de-ionized distilled water and citric acid was added to convert the oily nicotine into a water soluble form. Then it was distilled and a base added to convert it back into an oil for the TLC testing.

I'm thinking the same process should work for the cannabinoids in pot tho you would get all and not just THC or CBD.

I'll have to dig out my old lab manuals and workbooks to see exactly how we did it and try a sample here to see how it turns out. Should be able to leave out the conversion back to oil and evap off the water under vacuum to leave the crystals of cannabinoids. Pot Kool-Aid anyone? :D

I've been thinking about it lots actually... I think the problem lies in the fact that coke is base and so is baking soda where as thca is an acid... I'm not sure if the 2 would bond properly to produce the crystals you are seeking.... I really want to see this tho.
I'm going to put aside some of my next harvest for a small experiment. I might have to try your static sifting tech... its too warm now to work with the material directly on the screens.
Are you still thinking about trying this too @The high chief ?

Sweet, how did you extract that? With ISO? Looks almost like a nepalese ball of hash.

I see i read whole post, you mix it with BHO the kief? Intresting blend, two 3rds of moonrock without the bud I see. Must taste good dude.

In any case real nepali they make it from what I heard by sending naked chicks to run in the pot plant fields during flowring end period and they scrape all the trichs off with a knife and form the ball by hand. Its one of the few ancient hashes that doesnt use any flame except heat from the hand to mold it
