The AP reported today that it cost $1,000,000 to shoot down a drone that was flying over Israel yesterday with a Patriot missile supplied by the US. I think it should have stated that it cost the American taxpayer that sum. So far, in the confrontation between Israel and Hamas, there have been over 180 fatalities on the Palestinian side, plus thousands of wounded, and zero on the Israeli side, beside one wounded This is sure to increase, as it seems that a ground assault will be next. This major conflict is due to the response by Israel to the murder of 3 Israeli teenagers, supposedly by someone affiliated with Hamas. Rockets fired by Hamas in response, using the excuse of the arrest of over 500+ people, plus 5 deaths during the search for the missing teens, has only intensified the situation. I personally feel that the US should stop financing the death and destruction that seems to be a perpetual cycle in Israel and the occupied territories in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. It seems to me that our unequivocal support for Israel is a major cause of the ongoing carnage in that area, and if it was halted, or at least given under conditions, it might just make Israel think twice when confronted by the economic consequences of their actions. What do you think? Keep forking over the cash, no questions asked, or make Israel pay it's own way in their war against the mighty Palestinians.

Of course the US should support Israel forever! Without the crucial diplomatic cover and financial support of the US, Israel will be unable to achieve it's noble goal of Eretz Yisrael. A Pure Jewish State from the River to the Sea. It may seem like it is taking forever, but time is on their side.

How about reading history books, instead of comic books. Palestine has been called that since the Romans and the Greeks, or even by the Ottomans which gave it up in 1917 to the Brits, who also called it that, by the way.. A LOT LONGER than it was ever mentioned as Israel, which was the first time it was called that in 1948, except in that fairy tale book called the Bible.

answer quaestions, please.....lol.
the name Palestina Syriana, Syrian Philistia, was given by the Romans, after the failed JEWISH Revolt, although Romans continued to use the name Judea.
Jerusalem is mentioned over 800 times in the Torah; not once in the Qur'an.
the Pali's referred to themselves as "Arabs," until 1965. there are 22 Arab nations; all stolen at the point of a sword. there will not be 23. they'll all be incinerated, along with a lot of us, before that happens.

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan."

The Romans before they conquered Jerusalem had called Israel Judea. In 70 A.D. (almost 2000 years ago), the Roman army conquered ancient Israel and destroyed the second Jewish Temple (build under Herod), much of its Jewish population were either killed, captured as slaves, or fled. But in the centuries that followed many Jewish people continued to maintain ties to their homeland. In subsequent centuries, the Jews had returned to their land in small numbers always having a presence in the land. The Roman government issued a coin with the phrase “Judea Capta,” which means “Judea has been captured.”

After the second Jewish revolt under Bar Cochba (A.D. 132-135) it is said the Roman emperor Hadrian renamed the land of Israel and Judea as Palastina ('Palestine') after the ancient enemies of the Jews - the Philistines. Because of his hatred of the Jews, it was meant to be an insult to dishonor them and remove their history. Hadrian built Aelia Capitolina, in the area of the destroyed Temple and dedicated it to Jupiter-Zeus demonstrating the supremacy of the Roman deities in Judea. He then forbid the Jews from entering.

The only time "Palestine" was ruled by "Palestinians" or any people from the Arabian Peninsula was briefly around 635 A.D. "The only Arab domination since the Conquest in 635 A.D. hardly lasted, as such, 22 years...," the Muslim chairman of the Syrian Delegation attested in his remarks to the Paris Peace Conference in February 1919.
"Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity serves only tactical purposes. The founding of a Palestinian state is a new tool in the continuing battle against Israel... " Zuheir Muhsin, late Military Department head of the PLO and member of its Executive Council, Dutch daily Trouw, March 1977
