Yeah, that's a nice looking lamp, and a great price for a 3 year warranty!

You will need to deal with the heat from this light, tho. I thought that was why you had decided to use flouros, or maybe that was someone else.
Anyway, the 400w HPS will light a 3ft x 3ft area nicely, and will raise the temp in that area by 20-30 degrees. You will need to take care of that.

What sucks is I already ordered the 400W lol. I emailed them back to see if I could get a 250W and some $$ back. We'll see how good their customer service is :/

Stick with the 400w. Or get a 1000w would be better. I dont care if its one plant. The bigger the better.

But the 400W would be too much for my closet wouldnt it? I dont have a ventialtion system so I would have to rigg one up ghetto style. Putting a fan up top blowing out, and put one blowing in. But during the fall and winter months it stays pretty cold upstairs when I close the heat vents. Its not very well insulated up there. I keep it about 68-70 degrees in my house and upstairs is always colder.

Don't worry about it, Bro. My cabinet gets over 100 degrees in the summer and I still grow great pot. Get a good quality, small fan. Screw the fan to the side of the wall and keep it on low 24/7. This will give you stronger plants and keep the air circulating. I've grown in small areas using a 250, 430 and now a 600 watter. The difference between the 250 and the 430 is like night and day. You've made a good decision. Go with it ... and good luck.

Your asking for trouble if you expect to grow in 100f without any problems. Depends on what strain-maybe 100f is ok, maybe not. You would be surprised what a cheap bathroom exhaust fan can do. $27 at home depot, $45 with a light. Easy install and will lower your temp around 10 degrees.

never use flouros to flower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! waste... blue spectrum does not promote flowering... The only way to get mature buds is with HPS or natural sun. That 400w light will only cover a 3x3 area (about 6 plants). just so you know... that hps will give you a big enough yield to pay for that light times 10 first time if used right....
