how do i post a new thread????....i have looked all over this website and cant seem to find out how to do so. Cause one of my plants got eaten by a damn squirrel at the very top and pretty much topped it. it has been 3 weeks and it hasn't grown any taller and the hairs on the buds at the top of the plant are brown, but all the buds lower than that have white with some of them barely redish brownish. the only buds that seem to be growing fast now are the ones towards the bottom. Does this mean the buds at the top are already mature? Also this plant's buds are not dense AT ALL, how do i fix this?? One other problem with the same plant is i over fertilized it cause i used shitty soil that doesn't drain very well so the fertilizer built up and struck the plant. How do i fix this, in a very cheap way that is, lol. My other plant is doing way better then this one cause it hasn't been eaten and it has dank soil. CAn anyone help me please!!!

WOW thanks for all this feedback, i'll definately be getting a loupee, I've included pictures of my buds, Where should i be looking, because i havent got that 'crystal' effect over the leaves ( as you can see ) But the hairs are turning red so i guess they must be getting close to harvest...?

from here it looks like those buds have a couple weeks left to go at least. red hairs are not a good judge of time to harvest.... too many varieties.

The "crystal effect," that you refer to will come, give it more time. It starts around the bud area, on the smallest leaves and spreads over the plant from there. By the end, they'll prolly be covered in them. yummy.
They looking real good though.

Im pretty sure its just a matter of figuring out how to use it which isnt very easy. my grow buddy has the same exact scope and his is focused perfectly. i dont have to be so close to see shit like with mine. i need to get him to do mine up for me or something. lol.

I already had jewelers loupes anyways, but i thought it would be cool to have an extra strong scope! maybe not? rofl.
There's 2 adjusting tuners. Not a lot to learn there. Very difficult to focus. It WOULD be really cool to have an extra strong scope, but this one ain't it.

I am not an outdoor/soil grower so can't help with your problem but...
Go to the forum you wish to post a new thread - for you i think Marijuana Plant Problems would be best. After clicking on the forum, in the lower left you'll see a button called "new thread" and that is how you do it.

Can you see trichomes with the naked eye? Yes - you can see a bud that has frosting/sugary looking stuff all over it - them be trichomes.

Can you see enough detail to know when to harvest (cloudy, clear, amber, etc..) with the naked eye? No. You might be able to see some detail at 30x but i usually need more and that means i'm stuck using one of those POS hand held from Radio Shack. though sometimes i get lucky with the 30x.

I too have to cut a leaf off to see anything - stupid ass microscope.
