"Myth #1: People who get SNAP don’t work.

FACT: The overwhelming majority of SNAP recipients who can work do so. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, "Among SNAP households with at least one working-age, non-disabled adult, more than half work while receiving SNAP—and more than 80 percent work in the year prior to or the year after receiving SNAP. The rates are even higher for families with children—more than 60 percent work while receiving SNAP, and almost 90 percent work in the prior or subsequent year."

What's more, many SNAP participants aren't physically able to work. About 20 percent of SNAP participants are elderly or have a disability, according to the USDA."
ELDERY AND DISABILITY people should get snap.but there is millions of people that could work if they was not lazey. The lazey people is the people that should not get snap, they get free phones free rent and there ellectirct payed and on and on free shit so they will not work, they make moore money by not working and that needs fixed at least here in ky, for I see it every day.

I'm not a fan of Hillary either. The difference is, people don't believe what she says. Trump's faithful have fallen head over heels for him. If you look at his track record and what he's done to people who believed him, maybe you might gain a little skepticism.

This thread is about food security and whether or not its a good thing to treat freedom from starvation as a right. Trump is a fat cat who flies his private jet to rallies and stays at luxury hotels. He's never known want or need. He's not in a position to understand or know what to do during hard times. And you know they are coming. Is Trump the guy you'd depend on when the next recession hits? Just like Hoover was, he's not fit for the job.

So, children should be put to work instead of getting a good education? Because $39 per year from the average US worker's paycheck pays for food assistance to young families with children. You think that's too much?

Just as you're not in the position to know or understand what to do if you had millions of dollars. ;-)

What has this to do with my post? I'm interested in learning what people have to say, not that I promise to agree. But again, I have no idea what you are trying to say.

Well, you just said that only senior citizens should get access to food assistance, so, now what are you saying. Have you any children? They are expensive to raise. Do you really think people with little or no income get rich by collecting food stamps on their kids?

46 million people receive food assistance. In the majority of cases, recipients receive assistance for only one year. In other words, they fell on hard times, got assistance for one year and went off it the very next year. Seniors and disabled make up the rest of that number. This idea that people pop out kids for the benefits is a myth created in the Reagan era. Its too bad that lies remain as convincing or sometime more convincing than the truth.

It would be really nice to be able to grow community gardens and share with each other. Instead we are taught to consume and take care of ourselves fuck the rest. There are too many takers and not enough makers in the world.

I know people that live on farms and are to lazy to grow a garden, why should they when it is give to them in snap every month.I had about 10 bushel of white half runner grean beans and got sick one year and could not pick them, every one wounted them when I called them but when they found out they had to pick the beans they all roted. So that's what I call lazey and they just wait on the free stuff to be given to them.people has just got used to stuff being give to them this day and time and most will not work and there kids do the same when they have kids of there own.And it has went on here for years.I see it with my own eyes so I know its true..ky
