Hello peeps! New here Im Tony34 been smoking since i was 11 been around the block a few times seen alot sold alot smoked alot.. From Wisconsin.. So here it is I live my wax-\shatter oil, all that usually. Get some good shit from colorado and my buddy does make some ysing everclear and he recently gace me a bunch but i dnt like it i think it wasnt purged correctly it gets me stoned but when Idab it. It bubbles up instead of just going up into a puff of sweet smoke and leaves a crusty residue on my nail... Its also really dark and like shitty weed in a volcano vaporizer. My question is can I rerun the cycle and clean up the oil better so it burns more consistantly and is,more stable than it is currently. Again he uses, everclear as a solvent. I know he dont have a vacuum setup but i am also an autotecch and have a nice vacuum pump i can rig up to purge it correctly of I can remake this shit. Any help would be great. Thanks peeps.

Likely your buddy is washing the weed too long with the everclear and pulling out too much chlorophyll and other undesirabes into the concentrate. You might tell him to try a quick wash, no more than 30 seconds or so, and see if he gets a lighter product that leaves less residue. @qwizoking is pretty knowledgeable about this sort of extract, as I mostly use butane with a vacuum purge...

Chlorophyll and ethanol love each other, so you won't be getting rid of it easily.

You can clean it us some redissolving the oil in pentane or hexane and then washing out the water solubles with salt water,

Some of the chlorophyll will be washed out as micelles, because the molecule is polar on one end, but not readily, because it isn't on the other.

It you are heavy in chlorophyll, column chromatography works well. Attached is a photo of the individual fractions we were able to pull off. The first and last two have virtually no cannabinoid content.

Short path distillation will also take it out, because it is heavier molecule than the diterpene cannabinoids It is about the same weight as the anthro cyanins plant pigments, and between it and the anthro cyanins, can darken colors considerably, as well as leave behind non volatile debris at vape temperatures.
