Here is my grow room setup, just started today.

Heres what I purchased so far.

* (1) 600w Digital Ballast + HPS lamp for $80
* (1) 47l plastic tub from walmart $8
* (1) 30 gpm quiet fish air pump (includes 1 t fitting) $16
* (1) tubing for air pump $2
* (1) 8-10in air stone $3
* (1) can of flat white paint $1
* (1) door seal strips $3
* (1) 15amp Brinks Digital Timer (with 3 prongs:important) $14

Before I start my grow I just wanted to experiment on some indoor plant that was neglected to see if I can bring it back to health, that is what you see in the tank right now.

Unfortunately the ceiling is made from dry wall which is very bad for hanging anything off of. I will need to screw in a wood plate with dry wall screws (they have plastic anchors). I will attach the hood (when i get it) to the board i am attaching to the celling. I mounted the digital ballast to the wall with a couple of screws, its quite light and cool so I can keep it in the same room. The only noise it makes is from the fan, which looks and sounds just like a computer fan.

Speaking of fans and ventilation, I have not decided on which system is best. I either can vent the whole room out to the attic, vent the whole room through the lights, or vent just the lights. I want something that will be easy and cheap to implement.

I will drill the top of the tub with 3 holes for the net pots. I will spray the whole tub white so not to attract algae. on the side of the closet I will install atleast 1 cabinet for the mother and my clones. I heard that cfl's (swirly bulbs) are ideal for this box and will make up a rig with a few bulbs (depending on the size). I am on the fence about creating a veg room, or use the extra space for a veg and flowering room?

About the Hydroponic setup, my hydro store and a friend that grows hates hydro. They say its better to use soil and I am curious to compare the two. I heard great results in Hydro and when you have just a little closet this system seems logical to maximize returns. I am curious to know how much yield id get on hydro vs soil. I also plan on cutting the tops of a couple of plants to see if i get more yield that way.

I don't plan on filtering my well water, instead I will use the natural minerals in the water to balance the ph. I feel that its better to have a balanced ph instead of extra ppm for nutrients.

I plan on using my friends clones to start out with, they are called "The Hog" they apparently are supposed to be powerful, high yielding, and high quality bud. My friend gets around 1/3rd of a pound per plant with this strain. Thinking of at least 6 plants, hopefully 12 plants in this grow room (not including the clone room)
