self-topped plants in the same pot

i have a 2x2 tent where i am currently flowering some of my pollen chuck and one cannabis plant has what seems to me to be 2 self-topped branches. now ok that happens. and like this is a mixed chuck line (((dinachem x blueberry)x northern lights) x blue kush) so genetic mishaps is something i can understand. but on the other hand i decided to do a companion in this 2 gallon pot. heard basil was useful in increasing terpenes and stuff so cracked 40ish seeds and picked one seedling at random. i planted it in the same pot and it also self-topped.

i mean the medium is the same and i do bottom feeding so each one gets the same things and i don’t really see it in any other plants. so my question is do you see a connection? besides being a genetic trait can this be a hormonal thing that can be passed on to another plant? or maybe it can be both. a genetic quality that causes a hormone to be under or over produced by the plant and maybe whatever that hormone is then can be passed into surrounding soil and this may cause some defects on the companion plants?

i’m really just brainstorming here it can be a freaking coincidence too :D
just wanted hear the opinions and thoughts
