Seeking design ridicule, biased opinions

As a connsomate Bridgelux EB series fanboy knobjockey, it brings me minor, temporary shame, to admit my latest conclusion....
Im about to build a new VEG lamp for a 3x4x4 box.
I have a spare MW HLG -185H- C1400B.
Running EBs at 1400ma is do-able, but I don't like it. I just don't wanna, and I ain't gonna....
So far, I wouldn't justify the higher cost of the Samsung F series Gen 3s' superior efficiency, and higher maximum current threshold.
But doubt has started to creep in, that driver is just SITTING there.
I can get 138v worth of those F series on to that 1400ma driver, and light that box up nicely.
Now, on to the ridiculous hair splitting of arrangement...
Do I run 3x 4ft lengthwise? Or 6x 2 ft widthwise?
I have given myself 24 hours to place an order, and come to terms with my traitor, turncoat ways....

6 of the 2 footers would result in more even illumination across the canopy, traitor.

At 1400ma I'd be interested to know what the total Vf would be for 6 strips. But if you know they will fit for sure then no worries.

Well, if the data sheet is anywhere near accurate, 6x23v is 138, that driver is specd' out at 143.

Series wiring with that particular MW version.
It lights up 6x 560mm EBs specd' at 22.7 v each.

Yes indeed, I did notice that 1120ma test current. Usually those MWs are a little "hotter" than on paper....might be able to eek out 6 at 1400, I dunno....

Even if I had to run only 5, will be plenty for my purposes.

You would get 3 of the slightly cheaper double strips F564B on that driver for about 30K Lumens. That would be $80 USD. Or 6 of the F562B single row for $87 USD for about 29K Lumens.

Or DRUM ROLL PLEASE bongsmilie of course The EB Gen 2's which are now available

I think 7 of these for $52 USD would fit that driver (I think at 20v each) and give you lumens of 7*2390=16,730.
But, thats only being driven at 700mA as per the spec sheet. 175 lm/W , so lets assume a safe 25-35% more lumens at max current 1400mA would be about 20-23K. lets say for shits and giggles...

25K lm for $50 = 500 lumens per dollar
30K lm for $80 = 375 lumens per dollar

There is no way to know until someone buys 7 gen 2's and puts them on a 1400mA driver.

Also the heat sinks would be the same for the EB and F562B's, but the double wide strips I dont know if that would add much more to the metal costs, probably work out about the same I guess.I am thinking the F562B's would be better than the 564s and that 7 EBs would be better than 6 562s, both in coverage and cost.

I just compulsively bought 8 EB Gen 2's from the link you provided Canadian. I am going for 2' x 4' coverage and need to figure out the driver.

Someone has to start.
I bet the gen 2s will drop to the current gen 1 price once the gen 1 stock is depleted, but yeah, still, good value any way you go these days. I also think that maybe the reason they dont show the eff at max drive current (1.4A) is that there is a steep drop off. Dunno tho.

8*28=224 watts so a HLG-240H-24B in parallel ??
or 7 as with the C series drivers discussed above.
