Seeds

New to this and new to growing. I havent even starrted yet but have a closet set up and lights hung. I have 2 questions

1). I was given 4 seeds, i placed them each in their own shot glass of water 2 days ago, so far no sign of germination. Room is about 70.degrees.

2) i live in Pa, so its still illegal, is illegal for me to buy seeds of the internet? How do i get around it. Im only looking to grow 2 plants for self use due to fibro disease

Is it illegal to buy the seed or girminate the seed?

You don't want to leave seeds in water for two days.

I put them in soil today. Is it too late ? Will they grow still?

Only time will tell. Did they sink to the bottom?

Yes right away, within hour of in water. Just didnt germinate.

They don't always crack in the water. you just want to soak them for twelve hours or so then into soil. Or skip the water and plant directly into soil.
Give them some time. If they don't pop within a week they likely won't.

Most seed sales are shipped discretely, hidden so to say. I've had no problems receiving from over seas.

I've ordered online from overseas. The only concern I have is it getting seized by customs. I'm in a legal state though. I doubt they care too much about cannabis seeds. Now if you were ordering designer drugs or something from China through an illicit site and customs found out they might try and do a sting. Just make sure you get delivery that doesn't require a signature.

Like anything else on the internet, do your research on the seed shops. Some are good, some just separate the foolish from their money. I have used marijuana seed shop, and MSNL so far and received the seeds pretty quickly, but it can take a couple of weeks to a month or more from what I have heard.

Try one of the advertisers here, like "the vault ". I would have ordered from the vault myself if it hadn't already been set up with MSNL.

Statistically, it is far more likely for a seed shipment to be seized going through customs(which is rare itself) than only spending less than a week, in a USPS Priority Mail package. In your case, from DC to PA, 3 days its in your hands, no sweat.
I understand concern about legality, but IMO, the overseas order is a greater risk....
Stress for a month? Or stress for 3 days....

I don't think DC Seeds will ship to non legal states. From their website:

Edit: Pennsylvania has legal medical marijuana so DC would ship there. I didn't realize PA had legalized medical marijuana.

You should be fine as long as you live in a medical or recreational state. They're not checking cards just the state they are shipping to.

The longest time I have waited was just 2 weeks from ordering to delivery. The least amount of time was a week. From Europe to America, I think that is pretty fast.

The problem with ordering here in the US, state to state, is whether the state is a legal one or not. The seller is ALWAYS in a legal state, while the majority of growers are from non- legal states.

Some will sell "under the table", while other sellers will not. Just depends.

I've gotten seeds from the UK in a week from ordering. And yes some US seed banks will sell to all states but others will only ship to legal states. I noticed that while looking at various outlets. Some said they ship to all states and some like DC only ship to legal states. Another reason I buy from overseas is that they are significantly cheaper than buying domestic. I've never had an issue with anything getting seized at Customs and I don't pay extra for stealth shipping. But I could just have been lucky.
