Seeds with no pollen?

Can a female be forced to make seeds without any sort of pollen? I have heard of animals actually becoming pregnant without ever being fertilized by a male, because they trick themselves into thinking they are going extinct or something like that. So do plants do this as well?

The reason I ask is I have a plant with seeds, and I don't know how they got there.

On a lighter, less religous note I think it may be possible but the seeds produced probally won't germinate.... I have reason to believe this as one of my recent creations sprouted 3 seeds from nowhere!

a hermaphrodite cannabis plant will produce both male and female flowering parts.. it will therefore pollenate itself and produce it's own seeds. the seeds should also then be hermaphrodite seeds that will follow the same growth pattern.

A cannabis plant could go hermaphrodite to reproduce, but there would be evidence of male flowers if this were the case. What is more likely is that there was accidental pollination through transfer. Pollen is extremely resilient, very tiny, and can travel for miles. Accidental transfer can occur through clothing, shoes, the wind, your hands or hair.

The answer to your original question is no. A female cannabis plant will not reproduce without male pollen.

Yep hermaphrodites are marijuana's way to re create when conditions don't allow the natural order. I'm not saing that all plants will hermie if they aren't provided normal conditions, but some will...

your plant was a hermie. I was thrown off by one of my plants throwing me some seeds, but all it was was me missing the male flower. Not possinble for a plant to grow seed w/o pollen

some females can hermi on you and if they aren't hermi , there could be male plants around there or at least 10 miles (is that how far polin can go?) that could have gotten into your grow area

Too much stress to a female plant will cause it to hermie. A self-preservation technique inherent in all strains which allows the plant to self-pollinate to keep genetics alive through offspring. Seeds have more of a tendency to be hermie but under proper care you can have hermie free plants.

what about bag seed? that comes from buds u smoked that had a seed in it where did that come from? and 90% of the time they germinate with out any male genitals on the female plant.

"The two main types of seed feminization are rodelization and colloidal silver" - Robert Bergman. From what I've read hermie females are similar, but less likely than rodelized females. So yes, females can produce seeds from female pollen and the same female's egg in a "self-pollination" efforts. Females can also be forced to grow feminized pollen sacs. Now if it happens in the beginning or end of the life cycle depends on environmental factors and the method of production.
