starting seed in coco (solo cup) , time for transplant into 5 gal DWC bucket, do you guys recommend washing (gently) the soil off roots and place in DWC or is there a different process to start after germing ?

Get a tupper ware of water thats ph'd at least to 5.9. Take the seedling and gently crumble off the coco, then dip the roots in your ph,d water gently to get off the coco thats tangled on the roots. Your not going to get it completly off, but it should be good enough to transfer to your media of choice. Its a delicate stage of the seedlings life so be gentle. Keep the water level so that it makes contact with your media till you see roots coming out the bottom, then lower the water level at least an 1" below your net pot, then she should take off.

Good luck n happy growing

just fill the sink and gently agitate the media to loosen it. The idea of using ph'ed water is a waste, ph affects nutrient uptake via the roots, adjusting Ph for anything other then feeding is a waste.
