i just germed a dinafem auto ww and planned to do it outdoor

was wondering if a 1 or 2 cfl bulb 6500k would be fine for the first week or so then i put it outside?

cause there's a sudden typhoon here and i have no plans to let it sit outside.

and if i let the bulbs run 20/4 or something (just so it gets a good start) then put it outside for a 12/12 sched would it screw up my plant?

That will work just fine. I use t-12's @24/0 for the first week or so. It's all they need. As for the 12/12 after that, many people do it. See the 12/12 from seed thread on here. Myself, I like to veg for a month or two just to get bigger plants, but each situation is different. You do what works for you.

Oops, just noticed it's an auto - never done those but your yield won't be nearly as good as 18/6 or better from what I understand. Autos don't need 12/12 to flower so longer days are better.

thanks. i was just thinking of buying those desk lamps until the typhoon goes away then putting them outside.

im well aware of autos not needing any dark but i'm just trying this out for experience. i have a tent and other equip coming but that's still around 2 months from now (im not from the states and got my stuff shipped through sea cargo)

Couldn't wait and decided to germ stuff. lol

Find the brightest cfl with the highest lumens possible. Two month is so far away.

In North America it is easy to get a 150, or 200w CFL, try and get a few of those. I think I normally seem them around 5000k, which isn't ideal, but it's not an ideal situation. So go for that

My man, if ur only keeping it inside for a week or so, any cfl bulb will do, i start all mine under single 23w cfls before i throw them under the mh. The plants focused mostly on root development at this stage so as long as its getting some form of decent light you are good money.

Well sure, I'm just saying since autos have a built-in lifespan, the longer you can make the 'day' the more you will yield. It could be a significant difference. Either way, it will be good experience and a lot of fun. Best of luck to you, let us know how it's going.

A few things to acknowledge
#You dont want to put your plant outside while its still with a tender stem. Typhoon weather where wind blows contant not good. You want your plant stem to be strong. Even if wind is common you dont want them outdoors unless you have sort of like an glass house effect you know or like a closed in porch that floods sunlight through. And rain will beat a grown plant down thus a young tender stem plant. And you have to be close watch of pest special mites, caterpillars, and stupid soil GNAAATS! Hate those little losers. The larvae will shread your seeds and r:peace:oots. In addition you can bring pest in on your clothes and plants if their in and out that will spread to other plants. Just some vital things to take into consideration. Good growing to to you and safety from catastrophic threat.

Use the two bulbs.it is an autoflower. But it's still going to flower right away. Auto flower means it has appredetermined time to flower based on maturity. You can still flower from seed

okay thanks,

i have another question. i've grown sativas and seem them get bigger in 2 weeks at least. but this was in 75w led

now, I've germed 2 NL indicas and put them by my window since they're still tiny!! (around 5-6 days old)

i just put the first one in the cfl and will compare until my auto germs properly.

do indicas really grow so much slower?

Na it all depends, the indicas could be focusing all their energy in root developement rn. I have 3 indicas and 1 sativa dom, the sativa was always the biggest till i switched to flower and one of my ogs just took off and surpassed all of em
