seed strains the real deal?

So on my quest to procure some good seed strains, I have often wondered if some of these seeds are what they say they are. For example...Was looking at some Pineapple express last night, and some G-13. Does anyone know the history of the "pineapple express" and if this is the strains of old? Or is this just a strain someone named after the movie? Same with G-13. Its been years since I smoked any, but never forgot how powerful it was. I would like to get some, but I keep seeing strains like "G-13 haze" or similar. I would like to obtain the real G-13 seed, but I guess I am a little unsure if these seeds are the real deal as well, or just copy cat naming. If anyone knows of any banks/breeders that carry the "REAL" strain please let me know.

Pineapple express is named after the film as a way of shifting numbers, it appeared to work, G13 is generally a random mix of genetics with the name used to sell it, there are only a couple of places selling good G13 hybrids like mr nice, and Dr greenthumb clais to sell feminized seeds of pure G13 although the legitimacy of his claim is heavily contested, whether it's a mislabled hybrid, a total rip off, the real deal, you dont wanna get into that debate, due to genetics being the complicated things they are, it won't easily be proven either way.

On the whole a lot of strains are mislabeled as a means of making sales, such as white widow. All white widow you buy these days is a scam, the real white widow is actually called black widow and is sold by Mr Nice Seedbank, You will probably find reading up about shantibaba and Aarjan very interesting, all about stealing names and such to win cups and whathaveyou. (it'll also show you why not to go with GHS seeds )

I was affraid of that... I guess the almighty dollar trumps honorable genetics. Thanks for the leads, I will check them out!

many nay sayers have fallen to the wayside that this is NOT the real G13, you're an adult you decide if it's for you.

People that worry about the cost of seed, might want to re-think wether they should be growing or not.

People who are skeptical of 3 seeds for $200 should applaud themselves for having common sense. The guy who sold it to Dr. Greenthumb has already said that he worked the clone.

How do you think he accomplished that? Breeding. No one but greenthumb groupies think it's pure G13.

Another can of worms opened up again lol.... tbh you'll only find mainly X's but loads of breeders claim to have it these days, personally I'd go with Mr Nice Seeds G13 X's as Nev' has had the original to start with. You'll not get a good verson cheaply though.
