Seed generator bootleg non gmo etc.

I'm worried about corporate influence in the future. Not like this year or even decade, but long term it's definitely a threat. So to save long term I'm thinking about throwing together a seed generator.
I'm picking up popular strains from either original seed Co's. Or a reputable version. LOTS of research tracking that info down also Non feminized seed is getting difficult to find.
So I'm cheap and going with 3 seeds each strain, and the plan is to get a garbage can maybe 33 gallons or so and a 3 gal bucket of mediocre soil. Install a cheapo ufo led and a couple of cpu fans top and bottom.
The goal is simply to make seeds so the question I guess is, should I bother putting the seeds in separate pots, and should i shoot straight for 12/12.
I'd be happy with a hundred seeds or so.
Right now I'm looking at, humbolt sour diesel to start then, serious Ak, and would. Like suggestions on Chemdog, trainwreck, and Jack Herer.
Sorry a little lit right now so very wordy

Also some crude or creative nicknames for the "Trash can seed generator" are welcome and encouraged.

When you pollinate I highly recommend waiting till the females are at full bloom. You want maximum white pistils showing...every 2 pistils can equate to one seed. If you try to pollinate early it will drastically reduce the final seed count.

I would grow under 18/6 till maturity and you know the sexes, separate, transplant and flip the girls into 12/12....that way you can leave the males in small containers and stick em in a separate box till the females are more developed. I've found (IME) that when forcing plants into flowering before they're mature they don't fully develop or show a true representation of the genetics...this might not be as important to you since yer just making seed stock rather then breeding, but still I thought I'd mention it.

If all you want is 100 seeds or so you can do that with a single branch. I'd guesstimate that 1 gram of dried bud can hold 20-30 seeds. I've grown plants that are about 10" tall and produce a few thousand seeds. I actually once chopped a female branch off a plant and pollinated it, and stuck it in a glass of water to finish...only about 5% of the pistils produced seeds...but it did work and it was my first and only try at that method.

definitely go for the older strains that are more pure...northern lights, skunk #1, ak47 etc... keep in mind that seeds only last so long..I've popped some that are over 10 years old before, but they were kept properly. I recommend keeping seeds in little paper bindles..and into a jar in the fridge with some silica packets (<-start saving them up!). I've lost some seeds when I kept them in lil plastic baggies..then when I take them out of the fridge the condensation from changing temps too fast can collect in the baggie and create mold and ruin the seeds.

I've made tons of seeds and crosses and I currently have my auto gdp up into f9. Let me know if I can help answer anything else :) hopefully the info I wrote will help answer any questions I didn't address as well.

Wow! Yes absolutely that makes perfect sense. So to sum up, let the female mature a bit before exposure, and longer for better genetic representation.
I've tried the single branch deal unsuccessfully but it may be worth trying.
I'm very motivated to basically preserve genetics and develope a sort of seed ark for future family and friends so you're preservation suggestions will be taken to heart for sure.
Exit morgwar a wiser man =)

I will be purchasing landraces as well. It's hard to find indica landraces lately but the hope is to make my own strain over a span of decades to pass on to my kids. Like an heirloom.

Here it is a 25 gallon former soap container thoroughly washed and in mock up. Just needs paint, a hinge, and light sealage, and she's ready to get rolling.
That's a cheap, king, Chinese dual chip 10 watt measures to@300 watts actual via killawat. A 240 cfm duct fan on top. And a twin cpu fan intake on the side.
With room ambient temp at 71 degrees she idles at 75.
With a 12"tall pot this could handle an 18 inch tall plant. The first pollen chuck will be HSO chemdawg.

Damn near every strain known to man has been genetically modified through human breeding. People and their paranoia of "gmo's" always gives me a chuckle.

Just make sure you take care in storing your seeds properly.

Oh nothing against gmo's lol I just think that strains will be purchased, then copyrighted and only available feminized at some point, cornering the market like with vegetables. Or one time wonder f1's with no stable genetics.
I'm sure we all can agree, seed saving in every agricultural setting is a wise and timeless tradition.
Alas I'm preaching to the choir. I am starting a chemdawg/blue dream grow on another thread.
