Bro, all that time, money and effort for seeds that could be shit?
I'm only on my 3rd grow now, but I've never understood why people use unknown seeds when it's a risk you just don't need to take. Amazing potent seeds are available all over the world really cheap. What if you spend 5 months on it and it turns out to be a shit strain/genetics? My first grow I bought 3 OG kush from royal queen - £20, and 3 blue cheese from barneys - £20. I got 12 oz of stinking, potent, dry buds. Never looked back......

I agree with both sides here, and hard to steer me down one path or the other.

For a moderately experienced grower to advanced grower I completely agree that growing bag seed is a complete waste of time and resources, but for the 1st or 2nd time grower using bag seed is a great educational tool to learn with out killing a seed that money was spent on.

Bag seed for new grower Pros:
  • Can identify under or over watering issues - biggest problem I see with new growers
  • Can identify nutrient deficiencies
  • Learn patience or that you don't need to be in the grow room caressing the plant and stroking its leaves every minutes
  • how to sex a plant
  • Learn growing techniques, ie Soil, Coco, DWC, NFT, Aeroponics (yes I see new growers start with this straight off the bat), Flood n Drains, or hybrid systems, then there are Bush grows, lollipoping, LST, Supercropping, SoG, ScroG,
  • possibly even venturing into cloning with a bag seed plant
Bag seed for new growers Cons:
  • Waste of time, money and resourses growing absolute rubbish
  • New growers will treat all cannabis the same as far as nutrient strengths, not realizing that each strain is different

bottom line is that bag seeds are shit for a reason, they are there to feed our gutter scum and keep them away from our good stuff when they don't appreciate it to begin with, I live in the southern part of Australia where it is common to mix weed with tobacco (even if you don't smoke ciggies), I do not share my weed with these people, I tell them to bring their own or go home. So in this situation, having some street weed in the house is a good option if you don't want to shit on your friends and tell them they cant smoke your premium green
