Sea of Green -vs- Fewer bigger plants - Which one produces the most?

Yeah, my electric bill is about 400 per month... If I had more room though, I wouldn't grow this way because I would exceed my max plant count.. I would instead grow around 75 Large plants under SCROG method.. I would veg them for a long time, may stagger their harvests to keep it continous. If I didn't have legal limits to worry about then I would grow SOG with a high plant density.. The Chronic is a great strain for this method.. I wish they didn't have the plant limits....

Could you grow the popular strains with this method, like Skunk, cheese, White Widow, Nothern Lights, Big Bud? You know, the ones that are 'sought' after and sell for the most? ;)

I have never grown any of those so I can't say for sure. I think Big Bud may be a strain that works.. If you get the series "The Book of Buds" many of the strains in there will list if they are good in a SOG.. I have had the most success with: The Chronic, Most of the OG's, many of the real Kushs work well. Nebula works great, some of the Hawaiian strains, Blueberry, Blue Dream, Most Diesels, Pot of Gold.. There are many.. You may need to adjust the spacing between 1-6 plants per sq foot depending on the strains you want to use. Anything requiring over 1sq ft isn't going ti work.. The idea is to have a real dense tight and EVEN canopy.. So mixing strains needs to be considered. You don't want some plants 1 ft closer to the lights than the others.. Anything capable of growing a large center cola is usually a good SOG candidate.

Wow.... You need to read the whole post.. I do this cycle all the time.. This is an estimate of this particular crop not the method as I do the method all the time.. Any other part of the post you aren't understanding??
This is how yields get exaggerated as people start estimating total weight based on one or a few plants.

Yeah thats a pretty good setup if you wanna spend a small home loan to produce 1.3 per watt. I have about $500 in my setup and do almost that in a scrog setup.

2x4 tent, 6 bulb t5, 1 in line fan, 2 res DWC 2x3 screen (2- 2x4's and some string) and a whopping $23 worth of Agway bought nutes that will last me 5 grows. Simple basic setup that with a little knowledge and patience will produce just wonderfully.
