How quick is your wash?
freeze alcohol and bud. 20 sec from when the alcohol first touches the bud. After the 20 sec, I quickly put a cheese cloth on top of the mason jar and drain. draining takes less than 10 sec. this is actually two runs of a hand full of trim. I think I can go longer maybe even close to a minute and get it all in one run. freezing and working in the cold helps out tremendously.

I've never worked with cold items, I need to give that a try. Another guy at another forum suggested soaking for a minute and then shaking for a minute, followed by a cheesecloth and coffee filter step. His looked very good too!

When working with alcohol you def want to freeze it and the bud as it helps knock off those resin heads easily. I have a straw I use when I make it to stir it up as I have seen shaking it can make more chlorophyll come out in the product but if you shake I would say shake immediately and not for very long so that you can always have that great golden color.

But isn't the alcohol dissolving the resin? Does it actually matter if the resin heads are more brittle or not because of temperature? I could see freezing temps hindering the chlorophyll from leaching into the final product over a short period of time. I don't know though, I don't have very much experience here.

Naw that's why the alcohol is being used to extract the resin heads. The alcohol is basically the gateway to allow you to get the resin heads in hash form. Yes it matters that that the temp is cold cus this allows the resin heads to break off very easily that way you don't get all the chlorophyll in the extraction. The resin heads can break off in warmer temps but cold as can be is best. The temps doesnt matter about the chlorophyll as it will leach into the extraction on any hash extraction if the bud/trim used is soaked too long in the solvent or whatever is being used to extract. Freeze ya buds/trim and alcohol for a least 24 hours and then give it a go you must evaporate the alcohol out that after extraction

I believe freezing helps break off the resin heads off of fresh buds and as well as help with a slower leaching of the chlorophyll. I also only swirl no shaking.

The 2 phantom og plants yielded 2 oz of prime nugs, and 2 oz of trim and popcorn nugs. Too bad I had to cut a week earlier due to pm.

There's a product for PM by NPK industries, i believe u can spray that to keep pm from spreading and kill it as well. Safe to spray up to harvest day as well. bud mold shouldnt be a problem as long as u have adequate air flow when drying and curing. u should at least look into the product. having ripe buds are way better than having early cut buds. i feel u on that. it's pretty cheap too. especially having only a few plants, it should last u prolly a couple harvests. Also if ur doing a tent, i'd look into a sulfur burner, or a dehumidifier. prolly the latter. that way u can just empty the water everyday. dehumidifier i think would be ur best option tho. when u use one of those tho, ur plants will drink a lot faster as well, and it will grow a lot faster too. I use to have PM problems in one of my rooms, until i started using a dehumidifer, problem went away. check out craigslist, u should be able to cop one for cheap!

oh not sure if ur using a portable a/c or not, but that actually helps with ur humidity as well, just make sure to dump the water.

I dont have a pm problem in my tent. the reason the phantom ogs got pm is I left a full 5 gal drain bucket in the tent for almost a week. right now all my plants are pm free. if I start getting pm again then ill probably go for a sulfur burner or dehumidifier.
