I always preferred rum
Never met too many that would take rum neat..most felt it was strictly for mixers..I felt like they were basing this on one or a few bad rums especially certain spiced rum
But I never cared for whiskey of any type. Idk..it may be tied to my childhood
Im a big fan of rum. Love myers and the kraken. Havnt had anything too fancy though. The balvennie rum cask is an awesome scotch that brings in alot of the rum notes.

I really am an islay kind of guy though.

Next purchase is Lagavulin 16 and ardbeg uigeadail.

Nice timing on this thread considering Jim Beam and Maker's Mark got sold to the Japanese today. I guess it is Suntory time.

Yep, all Bourbon is American - in order for it to qualify as Bourbon (a type of American whiskey), it has to be produced in the US, just as Scotch must be distilled in Scotland, or it can't be legally labelled "Scotch."
Pretty sure it has to come from bourbon county kentucky to be true bourbon

Usually I'm a Blanton's drinker but picked up some Evan Williams Single Barrel and was pleasantly surprised. Think I'll stick with this for a "maintenance" bourbon. (and cheaper too)

I've been known to down a whole bottle of frangelico in an evening. I like the sweet stuff. Don't like scotch or bourbon. I do like Mexican beer too.

lol, i was looking for a bourbon a month or so ago that was rated excellent but all they said was it was expensive. $600 bottle!! little out of my league:) my taste is nowhere that refined that I could have told the diff.

I prefer Glenlivet 15 or 18, the Macallan 18, or Lagavulin 16. Give them a hot bath and pour them neat.

There's another, I can't remember what it's called, it's a single malt lowland Sherry cask aged.

For my vacation, I got myself a treat. 15 year old bottle of Pappy van Winkles, a new glass piece, and an ounce of orange-crush. Can't wait to finish up housework, and indulge.

you dog, I've got to travel to get anything really good, Blanton's SB is about the best around here. Picked up a bottle of Bonded Old Grand Dad and thought it was a pretty good value. Been ages since I had any.
