i'm sure it would be cheaper on all of us if people just neglected their health until an emergency room visit became necessary. that's how they do it in all the nations with universal care and lower costs than ours, right?

People in this country are a bit spoiled. Look at countries like India and China, that was our workplace 100 years ago. We insulated ourselves from reality with cost increasing osha regulations and insurances.. Now we want cheap products but our safebwell regulated workplaces cant provide them so we use third world labor. Now we have Walmart and we see life isnt fair and unless well educated with high aspirations you will likely work really hard to not make ends meet. This is normal for much of the world, just many of us isolated ourselves from poverty for so long we have no clue what true poverty is. Its not being unable to pay the phone bill, or cable bill, its lack of food, shelter, clean water, clothes...

Its obvious now you're a liar, a medical student (one who is in medical school) and an undergrad are two different things. You could be studying jazz trombone and declare yourself pre-med. And I've met more than my fair share of "smart girls" trying to impress me by telling me they're "pre-med". You think you're cool because pre-med sounds cool?
